Hostel Cozy Beds

Nothing. It was HORRIBLE. Very, very very very bad. And I have stayed in budget rooms all over the world. But this one was exceptionally bad.

EVERYTHING could be improved. From the moment I arrived, I felt uneasy. The aroma when you walk in the door is of mold and mildew. The place has not been renovated in many years, and is falling apart. My room looked nothing like the photos online. And the smell of mold was strong, making me extremely uncomfortable. My nervous system felt on edge the entire time. Every time I left the property, I felt so sad that I had to return. The curtains are only thin pieces of cloth and did not block out any light from the streets. Plus the light coming from the hallway and from the aircon machine made the room lit with a strong blue light all night long. The lights in the room are very bad as well. Fluorescent lighting that was extremely hard on the eyes in the evenings. The other guests were up until past 1 am making loud noises. The power went out about 8 times during my 1 and only day here. Power outages are very common in Rishikesh, but every other hotel I stayed at has a backup generator and the power doesn't go out nearly as much. There was no hot water, and no drinking water that I was made aware of. The staff were not helpful and were not very welcoming. Then, when I decided to leave early because of all the problems, the staff refused to give me even a portion of my money back. The owner who I spoke to on the phone told me that if I cancelled the room via booking.com that he would return my money. But even after I contacted booking.com, her DENIED my request and refused to return my money. Just for some context, I have been traveling through Asia for years. I have stayed in MANY budget rooms, but this was BY FAR the worst room and customer service experience I've ever had with an accommodation. I cant believe they wouldn't give me any money back at all. Bad karma. There are many many accommodations in Rishikesh with better rooms for the same, or even cheaper prices. Safe your money, and your health. Do not stay here.

Location Room was satisfactory for the amount paid Staff was mostly friendly and helpful :)

Rooftop/ balcony was not in good condition and didn’t feel comfortable to hang or do yoga/meditation in the morning as some of the staff or their friends were sleeping there Room and bins were not very clean

It is a bit pricey for the facilities they provide if you compare it with the other hostels in Rishikesh. Reaching the location requires a 3-4 mins ascent trek from the main road. There are many better options other than this hostel in Rishikesh.

No AC and the dorms were untidy.
