Great value for money and great location, friendly staff

The location was perfect for our hike up seathwaite fell. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful and polite. This is the 2nd YHA hostel I've stayed in and can safely say I'm converted. The borrowdale hostel is magnificent and a right trip down history lane!

The only thing that let it down was the price £65 for 1 night is the same as a hotel. Probably didn't help that it was half term and is normal for businesses to increase prices during those times. But it was worth it in the end due to the location.

On a soit pas eu de chance, soit c est la saison qui fait ca mais dès que nous voulions quelque choses a boire ou a manger , il n'y avais rien , pas de biere pression, pas les plats demandés.. peut etre ne pas mettre de carte sur les tables et de faire un ardoise de ce qui vous reste pour éviter ce genre de situation . De plus vu que c est arrivé a plusieurs reprises on a senti l'agacement du staff indépendamment de notre volonté. En dehors du service food/bar c était un super moment

I loved the decor and the cosy feel to living room, bar area. The communal kitchen was an excellent facility.

I understand it's a YHA, but for the price of the room it was appalling. Prison cells have more facilities.
