The location was great. There are even restaurants within walking distance.

I kind of expected people to be around in a hostel. You can't really control that though.

"Bathrooms were gross, otherwise everything okay except the gross snorer in my bunkroom."

4.0

Location, comfy bed, has kitchen facilities. Shower water was hot and strong pressure. FYI, the "staff" question was N/A. There was no staff.

Big problem - bathrooms were NOT clean. Both showers were disgusting. Slimy floor on one, mold on shower curtain. Other one had gross mold and floor was NOT clean. Both showers smelled of urine. Hadn't been swept or vacuumed either. Rugs could use a laundry trip. Disgusting. My room smelled faintly of URINE. I am not making this up. Every time I walked in, there was the smell. I got used to it if I stayed long enough. I had a woman in the bunkroom I was in who arrived back at 2:30 in the morning (Sunday morning) and began to wheeze, snore, and cough. I had to escape to the common room sofa to get any sleep. The woman stank of stale cigarette smoke and other weird smells. She may have been the source of the urine smell. She had been there before me. Weirdly, she never arrived back on Friday night. She was grossly overweight which is a tip-off they're probably a snorer. Do you allow homeless people to stay? I noticed the time before half the people staying here are not hikers, travelers, etc. but seem like long-term "down and out" types. Like this loser in my room. You might ask people before booking a bunkroom if they snore, and to ask them to self-select a private room. Notch Hostel does this. It may cut down on the crap I had to deal with Saturday night/Sunday morning. I got minimal sleep because of this one inconsiderate loser. Kitchen could be more well-equipped. Found only one bowl, no plastic containers, or foil (just plastic wrap).
