Albergue la Medina de Camponaraya

Comfortable beds with high upper bunks so plenty of headroom. Strong wooden frames so stable and quiet. Roomy showers. Close to supermarket Dia. I bought food there for dinner and ate in the very nice garden terrace. One of the waiters was quite kind and brought me a plate, napkin, silverware.

Check in was a bit rough. The woman at the desk was hard to communicate with. Google Translate helped. She insisted that my luggage had not arrived, despite the assurances of the Jacotrans driver that he had left it early in the afternoon. It took over an hour to find out with a call from the driver to the owner that it was at the hotel in a place that the desk clerk could not find. The owner finally arrived a couple of hours after I got there and brought it saying that he “made a mistake” and took it to the hotel. It was clearly marked for the Albergue. Not a good start for my stay. I had to wait around for a couple of hours before I could shower and settle in, or go to the supermarket.
