Although it is defined as a tranquil hostel, my roommates had a party until 4 am with people walking in to the dorm to use the bathroom. A security guard would have been helpful. Also, I didn’t liked that I (female) was put in a 4 bed dorm with 3 guys …

My stay at Alt Life – Dharamkot (McLeodganj) was peaceful, scenic, and rejuvenating. The hostel sits in a stunning location surrounded by mountains and pine trees, offering breathtaking views right from the common area and rooms. The rooms and dorms were clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, while the in-house café served great food and coffee with a view. It’s a bit uphill, but the peaceful setting makes the short climb totally worth it. Overall, Alt Life Dharamkot is an ideal mix of comfort, community, and mountain serenity — a perfect escape for travelers seeking both inspiration and relaxation

The location was really nice, it was closed to lower Dharamkot's shops and cafes and equidistant from water falls and upper Dharamkot.
