I really enjoyed my journey. It felt like home. I think the experience depends heavily on the people, and time of the year, I was extremely lucky.

Exceptional value accommodation. If you're wanting to explore Anaga this is the perfect place. You can run or walk straight from the hostel and pick up the extensive trail network. I stayed in a private room with it's own bathroom. Facilities are basic but perfectly acceptable and especially so given the price. Booking.com didnt have any real detail about the kitchen facilities at my time of booking, but I can confirm there is a large commercial kitchen available for guests to use for a small fee of €2 per day and a refundable deposit of €20 to make sure you clean up after yourself after every meal. It can be cold at this altitude in the clouds and especially so at night, be prepared for this with warm layers so you can enjoy the balcony. I strongly recommend the PR-TF03, you can follow a mixture of road and footpath along the ridge West from the hostel out and back to reach the trail, doing the main loop clockwise is best I think.
