Aloha Hostel Siargao

The location was good

First of all the room was nothing like the room we booked. We booked a 25 m2 room with a private kitchen. But when we arrived they gave us a 5 m2 room in the attic. The mattresses where laying on the ground and we couldn’t even stand up straight. In the shared bathroom, you will never feel lonely, there are always a lot of rats who give you company. That was disgusting. After one night of terrible sleep because of the loud music we went to the reception to complain. At the reception they couldn’t help us so the owner had to come in. It took ages for the owner to arrive. But when the owners arrived they got really mad at us. And they told us that booking.com was lying about the rooms, not them. After a long discussion we could stay in a different room but we had to pay 800 pesos extra! This room was a bit better but not even close to the room we booked. So I would never ever book a room at this hostel again!

The location was perfect. Surrounded by restaurants, cafes, bars, beaches etc. The room was comfortable and spacious, the lovely staff upgraded our room. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We extended our stay as we liked it here so much. We were sad to leave. If we return to Siargao we will stay here again and also recommend it to anybody else visiting the island.

could hear rats all night running around, Wi-Fi never worked. the double room is in a corrugated shed, air con barely worked. there wasn’t much to like about this place apart from the good location. never spoke to the owners at all.
