La Ruka Hostel

Die Anlage, das Yoga, das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Man hat einen Parkplatz. Das Zimmer ist groß und hat viele Ablageflächen.

Unser Zimmer war zur Straße hin und die Wände sind recht dünn. Man hört also alles und jeden. Die Betten sind recht hart.

The place and the location was optimal! You can rent the bike and they organize some yoga classes every day (which you have to pay). The staff was friendly and they answered all my doubts.

The people in general were not very engaging with each other. I found not a variety of people from different country. The majority were German, and they were speaking most of the time in their language. None of the guests speak Spanish rather than me and the staff. The place is very big, and the staff was very concentrated on their daily duties rather than creating a good and friendly atmosphere with all the guests. But this is my personal opinion. I would recommend it 100%, but if you wish to know people and perhaps make new friends etc, I personally didn't find this atmosphere.

Las areas en el jardín, para pasar el rato, y que también hay una zona de calistenia.

1- no me gusto la política para rentar bicicletas con el hostel, piden dejar el pasaporte con ellos, para ellos tener control sobre el huésped, en el caso de que la bicicleta no sea devuelta, por daños, robos... Un documento de identidad es muy personal y muy importante, ninguna persona que no sea el propietario debe retener dicho documento. Esto es ilegal en Costa Rica, y las personas no deberían seder ante este requisito de parte del hostel, porque ellos no van a responder al daño o extravío del ID. 2- no me gusto que no tuviera sabanas en mi cama, solo una sabana para cubrir el colchón, aunque, aunque el dia del check-out me dijeron que mi cama debería tener una sabana, tal vez un descuido de la cámarera. 3- amabilidad, una voluntaria de Chile, super amable a la hora de hacer el check-in, el resto de voluntarios trabajando en la recepción muy arrogantes.

Direkt an der Straße, sehr laut, viel Verkehr.

Location is great, not in the center of town but a very close walk or bike ride. I loved renting a bike, it’s easy to explore all over the place. I really loved how this hostel has a tab that you pay at the end of your stay instead of needing to pay for everything upfront and separately. The staff are fantastic conscious cocreators and will do what they can to make you feel at home. Very nice lobby area people liked to hang out in, hanging with the staff, hostel residents and furry friends. Stay at La Ruka if it feels resonant, the field of the hostel attracts amazing heart-full and trustworthy people. I felt very safe leaving even valuables in shared spaces. They also have different fruit trees they welcome you to pick from!

Lots of construction and noise at this time but always cool to see their team hard at work. Whole Staff is friendly and share many gifts of smiles

Je ne me suis pas du tout sentie à l'aise dès mon arrivée. Beaucoup beaucoup trop de formalisme. Je me suis sentie un peu oppressée à devoir signer de suite des formulaires sans même savoir encore si j'allais vraiment utiliser un équipement. Lorsque l'on recoit déjà en amont des messages WhatsApp pour nous faire part de toutes les formalités à respecter, ça aurait dû me mettre en garde. En 3 semaines de voyage, c est le premier hostal où je ne me suis pas sentie à l'aise et en plus, paradoxalement, c est l'hostal où j'ai payé le plus cher pour un lit en dortoir durant mes 3 semaines de voyage.
