The lodge is only a few minutes from Taranaki Falls and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

This hostel is spacious and super clean. The hosts were really friendly!

Reasonably typical lodge type of accommodation very well located for walks around Ruapehu. It was good to have own room rather than dormitory room and it was fine for those that don't mind the shared bathroom set up. Facilities were clean and comfortable and staff were helpful and friendly.

Hosts were lovely. Common areas are nice, plenty of space in communal kitchen/lounge. Clean shared bathrooms/showers. Laundry and drier available in the property.

The room was small and hot throughout the day, with no fan or aircon. It was okay to sleep with windows open. No bed side tables or night laps/lights. Only a bed , small mirror and shelves. No towels provided, charger 5 dollars for them. No breakfast available at the property. No bags storage, and use of common utilities after check out (10am) forbidden. Meaning if your bus is at 1:45 as mine you will be wondering around with you bags for 3-4 hours, and the morning is wasted as you can’t do much.

Comfortable lounge with table tennis which was a highlight
