If you want a home away from home this is the place for you. Tracey puts her heart and soul into this place and in making sure you are felt welcome. The facilities are excellent nice big lounge, TV, pool table, ping pong, table football. Very clean bathrooms and kitchen.

The common living room is awesome, and the room was clean and tidy

Honestly, the best hostel I've ever stayed at! The owners were the most welcoming, loving and caring people. They made sure to talk to everyone, they even remembered the names of every single person who stayed there at the moment. The whole place was super clean and well kept. Kitchen had everything you need for cooking. The living room is amazing to hang out, watch tv, play games or get to know the other guests (and make some new friends!). Would highly recommend staying there. You would not be disappointed!

Everything was perfect, the location, the people, but I found it inappropriate to be refused permission to wait in the hotel for an hour while I caught my bus.

The hotel is very good. But they wouldn't even let me wait in the hotel while I took the bus. So I had to wait for over 2 hours in the cold and rain. This is disrespectful and it's not done. I've never seen anything like it in my life. The lady from the hotel followed me into the kitchen when I wanted to collect my food to see if I was stealing. It's a disgrace, I don't call that being at the service of people. I would not recommend this hotel.

Great place to prepare for an alpine crossing or to recharge your batteries. The hostess is super friendly and helps me with great tips and information. The beds are comfortable and everything is very clean. Great value for the money

The limitation to 10GB internet is not a deal breaker but could be improved

Thomas and Tracy are great people. They help you with whatever you need and they welcome you warmly in their place. It was really easy to book shuttle and carparking for Tongariro with them. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and homey. You can play a lot of games at lobby and watch netflix. This was highlight of staying in NZ, lovely place with lovely people :)

I couldn't be more thankful to Tracy for her warm welcome ! This place feels like a home, comfy and cosy. Tracy and her husband know how to host backpackers and I hightly recommend this lovely place ! Perfect to go on the Tongariro for hiking and also discovering others activities around. I will definitely go back !

this is a wonderful place to stay. Great welcome. Offered another room because the host thought a top bunk would be difficult. Fabulous warm lounge. A special gear drying room. Great kitchen . In the reviews June 2023 a woman complained about the signs but some people in hostels and b/ps almost need a death threat to remind them to clean up.
