Hostel Clandestino Maderas

Very nice atmosphere and a feeling of being in the middle of the jungle. Awesome, kind and very helpful staff! The layout of the cabana we booked was awesome with an open view to the jungle and two hammocks on the balcony. Pizza night was awesome!! The beach and the waves are absolutely amazing!

Kitchen utensils could be upgraded at some point. We rented a scooter in San Juan which was very helpful because otherwise you are more or less stuck in the location with no shops around.

Eine super schöne Unterkunft mit allem drum und dran! Die Lage ist optimal, wenn man nicht viel Aufregung haben möchte. Man kommt zu Fuß einfach zum Strand der noch dazu der beste Surfstrand in der Nähe von san Juan del sur ist. Die Familie denen das Ganze gehört sind super nett und die Volunteers sind immer in der Nähe und kümmern sich um alle Angelegenheiten.

Beautiful spot, very spacious and comfortable, unique.

It’s right in the jungle, and kind of close to the beach.

I paid for a solo cabin, so take this with a grain of salt. The hostel itself is well done, and I think the dorms offer good value based on conversations with other guests. However, for the price I paid, the solo cabin wasn’t worth it. The shower head was clogged, there was no mosquito net despite hooks for one, and with the door and large kitchen window open during the day, mosquitoes got in easily and stayed in. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable for me, and all the skateboards were broken aside from the personal one of a volunteer. I went to a nearby gym where the equipment was in great shape, which made the hostel amenities feel lacking by comparison. The staff were very nice, but overall the value just wasn’t there for the solo cabin.

Prachtig hostel met hele vriendelijke vrijwilligers die je goed helpen. Kamer is heel erg leuk. Genoeg plekken om te relaxen. De keuken is voorzien van veel en goed materiaal.

Het matras en de kussens waren niet heel erg fijn. Dit kan nog verbeterd worden. Verder alles goed.
