Hostel Tavares Bastos

Gostei bastante dos queridos que me receberam lá, casal súper gentil, educados, simpáticos. Me senti acolhida e quero voltar em breve!

Tiene una vista muy linda, fueron muy amables conmigo, se siente como si estuvieras en tu propia casa, los vecinos fueron muy respetuosos y siempre dispuestos a ayudar. Además es una favela muy segura, salí a una fiesta y regresé a las 3am y pude caminar con mucha tranquilidad.

Para llegar el Uber no me aceptaba, estuve 2 horas esperando y nada, tuve que usar los taxis amarillos.

The best hostel in South America I've been to. This is the vibe of Brazil. It's located in the heart of the favela, and you feel it. On the other side, it's pretty close to a metro station (you just need to go down the hill), so you can easily get to Copacabana beach and district or to the city center. There're plenty of bars and markets around where you can get some food or products. Locals are extremely friendly. The host is an amazing person, very polite, friendly, helpful, he knows everything about Rio and always ready to help. The hostel is clean, showers have hot water, there's also a fan inside the room. The views from the balcony are spectacular because the hostel is on the top of the hill. One of the most important things in South America is safety. And this place is the safest place in whole Rio. There's a base of local SWAT, so the crime level is literally zero. If you want to meet a nice host, to live in a real favela close to average locals, stay in the safest place possible - book this hostel.

It's not a big deal. Keep in mind, that you need a bus/moto to get up and down the hill. It's 5 Reals up and 3 down (~$1) , it's a public transport so it comes often. Of course, you can go by feet, but it's a pretty long way.

Experiência incrível, fiz boas amizades e divertir bastante. O lugar é super seguro e o dono é gente boa. Já quero voltar em breve.

O Dudu e sua família são ótimos anfitriões, sempre diapoveis para qualquer auxílio. A vista do hostel é maravilhosa, vale muito apena acordar cedo para ver o sol nascer da varanda. Minha hospedagem foi tranquila, recomendo
