The Lunar Surf House

I liked the first week of my stay here, unfortunately, the rudeness and awkwardness of the owner completely ruined my trip and my perception of this hostel. I have been to Tamraght 6 times before and always wanted to stay here, and we were treated like filth.

The owner was incredibly rude to my boyfriend and kicked him out because he is Moroccan. He spoke rudely about myself saying I was a drunk even though I haven’t touched alcohol in 5 years. He kicked my boyfriend out at 11pm which meant I was not going to stay there, leaving me with no place to stay and having to find somewhere super late. He told my boyfriend to leave and to tell me that “he has to go because he has something to do”, and was talking about me as if I was some sort of prostitute. Obviously my boyfriend tells me everything, and the owner was embarrassed to discover that I found out about the conversation. Why he didn’t talk to me directly about this either I have no idea. I sense a lot of jealousy. My boyfriend had greeted them when he met them and gave his ID and they told him it was fine for him to be there. And we are a kind couple who makes no mess and no noise. They did not like it when he stays in my room, saying it will cause them trouble with the police. Even though we have spoken to the police directly about this before (at a previous hostel) and they told us to continue with our stay as we are fine + planning to get married. I messaged them numerous times on my arrival day asking to have dinner at the hostel as I would be arriving late, no response. They say breakfast is to be served at 9:30am but it was late every single morning, with it being served from 10 - 10:30am with no warning. So people could not efficiently plan their day or some guests started their day with no breakfast at all because of this. Incredibly unreliable owner/manager who wakes up late every day and has no care in the world about the guests having their breakfast on time. The surfboards were not in good condition. Someone I met at the hostel had to spend 40 minutes de-waxing one of the boards he rented from the hostel just so that he could wax it again properly. It took time out of our day when we just wanted to rent the board and go but could not.

Ich bin so froh, dass ich mich für dieses Hostel entschieden haben - es war eine richtig schöne Woche. Durch das gemeinsame Frühstück und Abendessen auf der Dachterrasse kommt man super leicht mit anderen Leuten ins Gespräch und kann zusätzlich noch gemeinsame Aktivitäten wie Surf lessons, Yoga oder andere Ausflüge buchen. Das Personal war auch super herzlich. Ich habe immer noch Kontakt mit einigen Leuten, die ich dort kennengelernt habe und würde beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Tamraght/Taghazout wieder ins Lunar Surf House.

Lunar vibe is exeptional

Das Lunar Surf House ist ein ganz besonderer Ort mit sehr freundlichen Menschen und der schönsten Dachterrasse. Das Frühstück ist umfangreich und sehr lecker, ebenso wie das Abendessen. Wir haben uns direkt zu Hause gefühlt und planen schon unsere Rückkehr!
