Isuyama Hostel

Dormir rodeado de naturaleza no tiene precio. Este alojamiento tiene todas las comodidades, una cocina preparada, comedor y salas de estar muy confortables. Roger y su familia son encantadores y no dudan en mostrarte osos perezosos o en llevarte a darte un chapuzón al río! Pasar unos días con ellos y en este entorno es una experiencia que nadie debería perderse!

Hébergement tenu par Roger et Maria et leur fils Franck, très arrangeant et disponible pour nous rendre le séjour agréable. Pepe est le perroquet de la famille. On se sent comme en famille. Idéal pour se reposer et découvrir la région. Roger organise lui-même des excursions avec son bateau. Possibilité de manger pour 10 soles.

Un petit rafraîchissement des sanitaires serait bienvenu.

Maria y Roger son los mejores anfitriones que he tenido nunca, nos han tratado como si fueramos de su familia. Roger nos ha llevado por la selva a descubrir lugares y animales dedicando todo su amor y paciencia. La comida de Maria es fabulosa.

Al principio da una impresión de desordenado pero luego te das cuenta de que está limpio y es comodo, al ser la selva todo son mosquiteras y entra bastante polvo pero en las habitaciones no.

Basically in the jungle so surrounded by plenty of wildlife which was amazing! Mosquito nets for every bed was very helpful. Free water accessible, and the tours with Roger were fantastic, as well as the food cooked by Maria. (Just need to tell her in advance which meals you would like to eat at the accommodation)

The wifi was not fast, like reviews suggested. It‘s totally understandable given the location, but due to the high score for the wifi here on booking.com I had different expectations.

Would highly recommend for an authentic, immersive experience—both rich in wildlife and genuine cultural connection with a local family, not a tourist hotel. Staying here felt like becoming part of the jungle itself. We shared meals and conversations with Roger’s family and other travelers, and went on unforgettable excursions like birdwatching, piranha fishing, and caiman feeding. The family’s pet macaw stole our hearts and made every day brighter. The hostel is basic and rustic, but that’s to be expected—and honestly, it’s part of the charm. We also stayed at an expensive eco-lodge deep in the jungle, but it’s this humble place that left the deepest impression. So we stayed twice!

Roger was a brilliant tour guide. Unbelievably cute doggos.

More things to do for guests would be nice.

The hostel is the real jungle experience where you find a family run place. The family is very welcoming and make you feel at ease, their kindness is very rare to find. The place is modest but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are well ventilated and beds are comfy with nets provided. The breakfast is included and is good as Maria cooks well asking only 10 soles per meal. There is also a small market where you can buy essentials. The family has 2 puppies and a beautiful macaw with whom we became friends. The tours Roger offers are great and very good value for money. We especially liked the sunset and the lake yacumama where we looked for Caymans. In total we stayed 9 nights and we enjoyed every moment relaxing and recharging. Just make sure you have repellent with you as there will be mosquitoes because the position of the hostel is in the jungle next to the river.
