Albergue San Blas - Vía de la Plata y Cáparra - Vía Verde

It’s very homely - open plan when you walk in. Living area, kitchen with a bedroom off to the side. Kitchen is well stocked and the wifi is good.

It’s all good. Although I could not find any towels - but this could have been a language barrier. I don’t speak Spanish!

The hospitalera is friendly and helpful. The beds are actual beds, not bunks, and she provides sheets and a bountifully full comforter. The facilities are very nice. The village is peaceful.

The only thing that could be better is for the lovely bathroom sink to be a little deeper. But this is no reason to complain! In the village there is a little shop with cheeses, sausages, etc. There is also 1 bar. The food there is bocadillos, a sandwich made with a short-baguette loaf. Those are the options for food. But I'm thinking that with time and increasing pilgrimage traffic, they'll be able to have more food options in the future.

The accommodation was well located in the village. Kitchen was well equipped and bedrooms spaceous.

Our host said she'd be along in an hour after we called her to say we'd arrived but it took more than 2 hours for her to show up. In the meantime, one of our party had a cold shower as there is no instruction on having to plug in the boiler! Also, despite advertising that towels are part of the package, she wanted to charge €3 each for a towel! The final straw came when we had to complete our own registration paperwork which was then just left on the side for anyone to get hold of. I'm sure GDPR (data protection)is alive and well in Spain too!

Clean and silence and air conditioning

Nice, clean albergue with a silent location up the hill. Basic breakfast. Beautiful garden. Not far from Bar Carlos. Museum of Via de la Plata in the down floor.
