Unbelievable experiences and it's an awesome location

Food was very ordinary pizzas had plastic cheese Place just needs a face lift and a good restaurant

I have been all over the world and Heron Island is the most beautiful, magical, miraculous place that I have ever visited!

The island is a bit stinky from bird poo but humans are lucky that the birds let us visit their sanctuary.

Fantastic location

Ants everywhere, crawling all over the bed, bathroom floors covered. Not able to lock our room, no keys given out and no safe to store passports money cards etc. I didn't like this at all. Put code pads on the doors if you don't want to issue keys or in the very least a safe.

Amazing place! Good snorkelling.

Breakfast was dreadful. Lunch and dinner was just passable. Bedrooms were old and rundown. Some staff were unpleasant.

Everything was superbly organized, from ferry transfer to reception to activities, all of the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The special care and attention for endangered turtles and birds is amazing. The rooms are big but somewhat dated. The diving is exceptional, on our second dive we saw mantas, rays, sharks, turtles and a myriad of other fish. Even snorkeling you get to see eagle rays and sharks. The singer/musician lady who performed twice every evening was a very nice touch.

We were well aware that there would be birds on Heron Island. But the resort should warn people that there are 100'000 (!) birds on the island that raise a racket 24/7 (mutton birds howl at night like wolfes and cry like tortured children). That you're constantly peed upon and that the stench of bird shit is sometimes overwhelming. Choose a Reef room that provides sea breeze... As for the restaurant: for dinner there is only buffet. If you don't want to eat that much, there is only take-out pizza, burgers or chicken-wings. Result: lots of garbage that doesn't sit well with the environmental objective of the resort.

Obviously the contact with the wildlife is amazing. Great experience.

The rooms could benefit from some renovation as they feel slightly outdated, and there was a subtle musty odour.

Expensive to eat, be prepared to pay as other options are not available.

Saubere Zimmer mitten in der Natur. Insbesondere, wenn man - wie erbeten - die vorhandene Einrichtung nutzt und sich den Sand von den Füßen abspült, bevor man das Zimmer betritt. Tolle Führungen (z.B. Turtle Walk). Freundliches Personal. Die Verpflegung ist völlig akzeptabel und angemessen, besonders wenn man bedenkt, dass alles auf die Insel geliefert werden muss.
