Iberostar Waves Punta Cana - All Inclusive

First time visiting this wonderful country and the hotel made the experience even more impressive. Great beach with plenty of seating and shade, as well as, a wonderful staff.

The variety of the buffet could have been better and the fruits during the last day were almost without exception of bad quality compared with the other days.

I loved the Garden view we had. Love how quiet the resort was, everything shut down around 6 or so because that's when the beaches/pools closed down and dinner started. I really enjoyed the kindness from the staff. They were very sweet! Room service always kept our rooms tidy and kept the fridge stocked with beer and soda. No Mosquitoes!!! I loved that! AC in the room had a sensor so when you opened the balcony, it would turn itself off and when you closed it, it turned back on.

The hustlers. They were everywhere and really pushy. They got really upset if you said no and tried to change your mind and show you more of their stuff that we had seen throughout the resort. Even the men grabbing coconuts from the trees right in front of the resort were trying to get you to pay for them after being cut up. The toilet in the resort leaked and by the end of our stay the sink faucet broke off due to the corrosion it had underneath. We called the front desk about it but they weren't surprised. The shower water was really dirty and left dirt marks in the bathtub. One day a maintenance man opened our door right up without knocking. I think the room service lady told him about the tub and he was coming to fix it, but you really need to tell them to knock. Luckily we were fully clothed and AWAKE. We stuck empty bottles in front of the door for the rest of the stay so we would hear anyone come in. There was only one brand of beer and they didn't have anything besides tequila at the resort. The food was ok. The best meal my sister and I had was at the Japanese restaurant. The Sushi I would not trust...avoid that. If you are staying 6 nights or so, they only let you book restaurants for two of those nights. The other nights you will be eating at the numerous buffets they have.

Good price, location, food was pretty good standard buffet type at a all inclusive resort. Most resort employees were super nice and helpful. Huge pools to accommodate all the guests which is nice. Great location right next to a beach.

Some facility issues, broken elevator one day. There were ants in our room when we checked in, but it was quickly taken care of. It seems this is more of a mid range resort.

No soap in the lobby washroom for a week, even after I complained. The shows at night were poor compared to other hotels I've been to. Service was a little slow and there were no waiters on the pool / beach, or they just ignored you
