Na Makassar hier in Bara Beach Bungalows & Restaurant voor 4 nachten verbleven voor mijn broer en ik aan onze verdere reis van Zuid Sulawesi naar Noord Sulawesi zouden beginnen. Wat een prachtige accommodatie. Het ligt pal aan Pantai Bara; het strand, een mooi wit koraalzand strand. Voordeel: koraalzand wordt in de zon niet heet. Het complex bestaat uit 8 ruime bungalows, elk voorzien van ruime douche. De accommodatie wordt door jonge mensen gerund, die weten wat gastvrijheid inhoudt. Zo vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De buitenomgeving was ook erg schoon. Elke ochtend werd alles aangeveegd. Het was inclusief ontbijt waar je werkelijk keuze hebt uit 4 soorten ontbijt. Maar ook kun je in het restaurant heel goed lunchen en dineren. Een niet te grote kaart met een mengeling van Indonesische en Westers georiënteerde gerechten. Er is ook een scooter te huur en dat is handig want in en rondom Bira is er meer dan genoeg te beleven. Van schitterende uitkijkpunten op kliffen tot heerlijke stranden. Ook kun je er goed snorkelen en vissen. Wij zijn 6 uur lang met een stevige boot op pad geweest voor acceptabele prijs. Ook naar het eiland tegenover Bira gevaren: Pulau Liukanglu.

Nice big rooms, however need some maintenance

The beach in front of hotel was full of litter, plastic bottles etc. Not daily cleaned. A lot of smoke of surrounding garbage burns.

Vriendelijk staff, uitstekend ontbijt, ruime villa’s, goed bed en uitstekende prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Prima zonnebedjes incl matras.

De toegang tot het strand is rommelig en er ligt veel afval. Er was ons een warme douche beloofd maar dat was niet zo.
