Rawnsley Park Station

The unit was good. However, it is not 1 bedroom apartment as advertised. It is a studio apartment.

Over didn't work at all. It is overpriced IMO. I also don't like the fact that I couldn't book with free cancellation, or possibilities of changing dates.

The sheep station is situated on the southern edge of Wipena Pound. To get there you drive up the bitumen road from Hawker, then across Arkaba Creek. We were not aware this might be a problem, but after a few days of rain, the creek was running fast and for an SUV without 4WD, this wasn't good. The restaurant is lovely situated next to a damn and offers great food and a good wine list for such a remote place. We stayed at the end of a long row of cabins and had excellent views over the plain and onto the mountains. The cabin was equipped with all modern day luxuries, but we specifically loved the large shower with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided and the softest and thickest towels you can imagine! All beds were wonderful to sleep in and we couldn't fault a thing. The property also sports several great hikes of varying length, which we also enjoyed.

There is an airfield and a helicopter pad and on two days we hiked the sound of the plane(s) and helicopter were disrupting the otherwise peace and quiet of the place.

Unit was near the restaurant.Good deck.

Amazing

Great location with breathtaking views across the Wilpena Pound. Nice accommodation in the quiet area. Great coffee, tea and other cooking facilities. Spacious and excellent bathroom. Good living room ,TV and air-conditioning. Restaurant on the site was excellent.
