Location is great, right in front of the beach.

The wooden chambers get super hot in summars and they should keep small fridge in each chambers so atleast people can have cold water for drinking.

The location is excellent - right on the beach. It was probably less than 100m from my hut to the beach. The hut was comfortable and clean and the aircon worked well. However, it does need sprucing up a bit as the woodwork was looking a bit tired, as were the curtains. The staff at Simrose are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is fantastic - both Indian and Western cuisine and all done well - and the staff in the restaurant were great. We had breakfast included, and there was plenty of choice (again, all very tasty). Agonda itself is beautiful, and I would definitely like to return.

Simrose Hotel (main street left) in Agonda, India, is not what it seems on Booking. On the site, it looks like a series of beautiful huts on the beach. When we arrived, we asked to see the rooms before checking in and realised the rooms were tatty, none of them are whats on the first foto, the swimming pool miniscule, and the field next to it filled with trash - very expensive locally for the euro 100 a night we paid. We cancelled with a request for a refund immediately. The owner said that if they would be able to rent out the rooms, they would refund. So we went back after several days; he had not cancelled the booking on his side, the rooms had been rented out, but he wouldn’t give us a refund “because he deemed that we as women were not respectful”. Through conversations with locals, we later realised Simrose has quite a bad reputation, also having stolen its name from the much better Simrose, now the Rose Hotel (main street right).
