LaRiSa Resort & Spa, Ashwem

The clean accommodation was well-designed, modern and spacious and surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens. Friendly staff and good housekeeping service.

Although the staff in the dining area were very kind, after the first evening, we went out every day for lunch and dinner as the food was particularly poor.. the first evening they had run out of white wine. breakfast was disorganised with all guests eating outside the main dining area and laying their own tables. Some days no coffee, no juice and the waiting staff cooking the breakfasts. We were there 14 days and this meant double taxi rides every day to alternatives. The poor staff don’t seem to get proper days off and work without a break from morning to night. Although a great boutique resort, the dining experience would mean we wouldn’t go back despite lovely staff. We didn’t see a senior manager throughout our stay despite asking for one when they ran out of coffee at breakfast!

I had an absolutely lovely time at LaRiSa Ashwem - the staff were all really kind and I felt very at home there, and the place is absolutely stunning (especially the private outdoor bath + outdoor shower!) The food was great too, and I enjoyed the morning yoga sessions. 10/10 would go back again

I was a little stressed before coming about getting a taxi from the airport by myself, so tried to book an airport transfer in advance with the hotel, but I struggled with this despite emailing several times. In the end everything was fine and I downloaded an app at the airport, but this could have been smoother. In fairness to this hotel, all my hotels in India had this issue, so I think it might be a communication issue via booking.com. I also felt a bit isolated in terms of going out and seeing things - I recommend having slightly better resources / organised trips to go do things (again I felt like if I were to just book a taxi somewhere I'd be quite isolated and didn't feel super safe doing this while travelling alone - but if there were e.g. organised tours of certain areas on offer I'd probably have gone on one!)

Paradise-like place with all conveniences! Liked it very much.
