LaRiSa Resort & Spa, Ashwem

This is our second time at the La Ri Sa. We enjoyed the first time so much we wanted to come back, and we weren’t disappointed. The grounds are even more lovely, the staff still excellent and the rooms wonderful.

Such a beautiful property and the ‘houses’ you stay in are so comfortable and beautiful. The staff were so amazing as well. The best place we stayed in Mandrem by far.

Friendly staff, breakfast was ok, the territory is beautiful and the rooms are stylish and well-equipped

Sadly there are quite a few things that we didn’t like: 1. Service is poorly coordinated. You can ask one hotel employee to clean your room and he won't pass it on to another. We had to come to the reception every day and remind them to clean the room. 2. There were 3 of us in the villa and we were systematically left 2 towels the first days of our stay. Just 2, one towel per person. They don't leave towels for hands, face. One day we went to the front desk to say about the cleaning and towels. You can imagine our faces when we came back and there were 0 towels in the room. 3. I would like to say separately about cleanliness in the room — a few days after arrival we found candy wrappers behind the sofa, which were left after the previous guests. Once I dropped a fruit on the floor and started to wipe it — the napkin was black. It was as if the floor in the room had never been cleaned. 4. On the last day of our stay, my friend found bugs in her bed. They were small and there were a lot of them (she killed 10+ in a couple of minutes). We called the hotel staff, to be exact — we called them 3 times before someone came. The person who came to us said they were not bed bugs, but probably mosquitoes (as if we don't know what mosquitoes look like). We asked for an extra bed to be replaced for us, which was done inefficiently. Problem solving at the hotel is poor and it is very tiring. It is tiring when you have to call several times and wait for half an hour for towels, cutlery, anything to be brought to the room. When you have to wait for 40 minutes for the breakfast to be served. When you have to explain obvious things to the staff who pretends to understand everything, but in the end does nothing. This service does not correspond at all to the price of this accommodation, and it needs significant improvement.

Too far from beach. Finish to property, ie paintwork inside property, was not good.

A beautiful site where you feel surrounded by nature. The bungalow was very large with an outside terrace area which also accommodates a bath. Well equipped with two a/c units, fans, television, bedside clock and fridge/minibar. Very large swimming pool. The included breakfast was very good and the standard of the evening meals was excellent. The bar and restaurant staff were all very enthusiastic and polite.

Our big issue was that hot water wasn't available in the evening that we arrived and on the morning that we were checking out. Two nights - 1 hot shower on the morning of our second day! We did report this while there, the room visited by their "engineer" but only a lukewarm shower before departing for the airport. They advertise a daily sundowner party by the pool which comprised of a cheesy techno mix played on a loop over the p/a and a free cocktail that we had to ask for. This same mix was being played at all times of the day including breakfast but thankfully the staff did turn it off when requested. When checking out, the 15% Booking.com discount on our food and beverage bill hadn't been applied. While the young lady on reception who helped to resolve the problem was very helpful, it took around 10 minutes to settle the matter while our taxi to the airport was waiting for us.
