Brookside Leisure Park

The property was clean and had the facilities needed for self catering. Staff were helpful. Hot tub was hot. Parking for 2 cars.

It is not clear on the description that you have to pay for electricity on top of the booking (was £20 for us for 2 nights). The swimming pool is also chargeable. Its not a lot £10 per group but is not transparent this is not included. We took extra pillows and they were needed as the ones there were so thin and there was only one for each bed. One of the single beds could do with some maintenance as was very rickety. Overall it had everything you needed and was easy to get to Chirk. A couple of furniture updates would improve the comfort rating. We did Offa's Dyke and the path is a very short walk from the accommodation.

The location was nice.

The hot tub was broken, the water didn't circulate at all. The smell inside was really bad, the mattress really uncomfortable. In one of bathrooms it was cold, not nice after getting a shower.

We enjoyed the quiet countryside, and the location for visits to Oswestry, Llangollen, and Chirk was great. We slept really well. We used the hot tub several times, which looked brand new in Redwood Lodge. We thought for two lodges for 5 friends the price was great. For food, the Castle Bistro in Chirk and the Golden Lion in Llangollen were excellent. We had a great visit to Plas Newydd in Llangollen on a very wet afternoon. We didn't see or use any of the advertised facilities. After reading some reviews, we were a little concerned, but all five of us enjoyed the stay.

The bathroom in Redwood needed updating but in Holly Lodge the shower room was fine.. The walk from the cottage was not that appealing and the drive in and out of the extensive property was a bit off putting...discarded hot tubs and other items on surrounding land.

Couple of issues. Plug extension lead melting but was replaced. Hot tub didn't warm at first but issue sorted. Shower blocked but sorted. Owners resolved all issues fast so all good

Quiet peaceful location. Hot tub was fun. Pubs and takeaway only a short drive away. Beautiful scenery around the area.

Wasn't the easiest to find. Lodge is hidden away up hill and clearer directions are required. Electricity cost a further £35 but I know it's expensive for energy and we were in the hot tub lots of the time. Shower room was a bit dated.
