Lake N River Resort Munroe Island By BAGO Retreats

Lovely location with hotel having river one side and lake the other. Swimming pool that had recently been built with shower block was nice to have. Peaceful location and could do kayaking, river and lake trips that hotel organised from the hotel. Staff very friendly, helpful and organised tuk tuk to get alcohol and taxi to railway station for us as hotel is not near a town. F&B Manager and Hotel Manager helpful and spoke good English. Chef also adapted spice levels in dishes. Range of cuisines available. Covered open air eating area right by river. Also BBQ areas and other eating areas in gardens for events such as birthdays, family get togethers. Great to see all the wildlife from the hotel especially the kites and kingfishers. Also watching the fishermen, tour boats passing, sunrise and sunsets from outside on the lawn. Hotel offers packages so check out their website. The entrepreneurial hotel owner was very keen to further develop the resort and listened to our feedback. Really enjoyed our chill down stay.

Nothing we didn't like but feel hotel would benefit from having an alcohol license to attract a broader clientele (but they did arrange a tuk tuk to take us to local licensed spirit shop which was good).

The property is incredibly good. The manager, Deba, is an awesome host. We had an exceptionally valuable experience with Diana, Revathi, Achu, Chef, Ritu, and Ganesh making it a perfect short vacay with my family. The food was wonderful, especially the veg thali that gave us a sadya feel along with Karimeen polliyachadu. We loved the chicken curry and all the fish preparations too. Overall, a beautiful place to spend some quality time with your family. I would certainly recommend this to everyone.

Though many would argue the need for TV at such a beautiful resort, I would have loved if the connection was active because I love the news and was following the Karnataka elections. Of course, there are 2-3 lizards that you can expect anywhere in Kerala. If you are scared, just let them know and they can clear out the lizards for you (Thank you Ritu).

Excellent Location. Spacious property, lawns, gardens. Cleanliness. staff support.

Toilet was not matching with the overall property / rooms style. Toilet (River-1) was clean but felt like a budget hotel toilet. Cheap quality chairs provided outside the rooms/balcony. The pagoda / seating area constructed near lake side is of cheap metallic structure, spoiling the photographs.

Breakfast was compromised, and felt similar on every days. Staffs were exceptional, location is beautiful Enjoy the shikara. Will visit again.
