AivyMaes Divers Resort

We booked months ahead a Standard bungalow for 9 nights based on the info and pictures available on booking.com. We arrived late in the evening and were shown a bungalow next to the staff quarters and opposite the kitchen / communal bathroom area. THIS MEANS NOISY & BRIGHT LIGHTS THE WHOLE NIGHT. In no way reflecting the pictures on booking.com We declined the room and were give another bungalow for which they wanted us to charge a higher price. We refused because in our opinion this room was the category we booked. After 4 nights we were supposed to change back to the bungalow we were shown after our arrival. We declined. The only option was to move out to another resort. Of course we lost our money for the already paid room since the management declined to cancel our reservation and reimburse us for the outstanding nights. We were also in contact with them before booking the room regarding diving. Nobody approached us on our first day staying there regarding diving. We had no clue who was responsible for managing the dive operations, were not shown a price list. Finally we were lucky enough to found a guy named Elvis who was available at 2pm. No information on dive sites though. We inquired about the price policy regarding house reef dives and dive sites only reachable with motocycle transport. Elvis insured us that divesites only short ride away were considered as housereef dives WITHOUT additional charge. The next day we asked another guy if the dive we were planning to do would be with additional transport costs. He said NO due to the short distance away (5 min motocacle ride) When we wanted to pay the bill for diving they had charged us the higher prices for the dives we had to reach with motorcycle. At the end we paid. We are seasoned travellers. We never felt so cheated & mistreated as at AivyMaes Divers resort.

Great place to stay. Very comfortable, clean cabin. Right on the beach. I had a great day snorkelling around Apo island. Lovely staff.

Location, right on the beach

The sand on the beach is a very course dark gravel.

The coral reef in front of the resort is great for snorkelling. There are a lot of nice people working at the hotel. It has a good vibe.

My room was very small and basic. The room I booked here was Sea View with a private bathroom but the little view I got was only from the front porch. It was a shared bathroom, not private. I complained but wasn't given a better room or any compensation.

Located right on the beach by a beautiful snorkeling/diving reef and near Apo Island. Newly- finished dive shop with showers, wash tanks etc. We stayed in a deluxe bungalow, with full bathroom (plenty of hot water), small fridge, large comfortable bed plus twin bed, large closet, coffee making supplies, A/C. Fresh water always available from the kitchen. Large deck with table and seating. Easy walking distance to restaurants, markets, massage. Lounge chairs and shaded seating area by the beach.

Beautiful location close to a protected snorkeling and swimming area, near great food

The Cabana we had booked was a little dark and too airy so we upgraded to a concrete room with more space and ac, that worked out well.

Small bad, dirty toilet and bathroom.

Right on the beach. Brilliant staff.

Basic facilities, a bit too noisy, lack of privacy.
