Maringi Sumba is an incredible place, staffed by amazing people. This is a unique institution that really invests in local people. All throughout our stay, from the moment we arrived and right up to our departure, the service was first-rate. The students do an fantastic job across the board - in the restaurant, front of house, room service, the spa and the garden - and it's hard to believe they are in training! Our guest captain was Nelti whose professionalism, knowledge and kindness really impressed us; she made us feel very welcome throughout our stay and really helped us to understand local culture and traditions when she led a tour of west Sumba. The food was absolutely amazing: we enjoyed every aspect of it (the Sumba beer - which was designed by the students - was a particular highlight!), and found that vegetarians were very well catered for. This is a great place from which to explore west Sumba; you can choose from a range of tours and experiences. We took part in several activities throughout our stay: we had a spa experience, went on a day trip, and participated in a yoga class. On the day trip we visited a traditional village, the Waikuri Lagoon, a mangrove river and bought some traditional Sumbanese textiles. We also enjoyed cycling to some of the nearby beaches on our own. We stayed in the pool area, where the accommodation was extremely comfortable and beautifully designed. The shared pool and common areas were great places to relax. Overall, this was an incredible place to stay and we only wish we could have stayed longer.

Wir kamen ohne Erwartungen in das Maringi und waren verblüfft. Die Teenager machen einen unglaublichen Job! Da wir in diversen 5 Sterne Hotels waren, konnten wir es sehr gut bewerten. Unser Guest Captain sowie das Team rund um den Service, Spa, Küche, Housekeeping und Front Office waren exzeptionell. Wir würden diese Unterkunft jedem empfehlen, da Sie damit nicht nur die Foundation unterstützen sondern auch etwas mit auf Ihrem Weg nehmen. Wir konnten uns perfekt erholen und hatten unglaublich schöne Erfahrung mit dem Personal.

Ottima struttura gestita da una scuola alberghiera che forma i giovani di Sumba mandandoli a lavorare nei grandi alberghi dell’Indonesia. Staff gentilissimo ed attento. Ottima cucina.
