Uravu Bamboo Grove Resort

It is a fantastic space in the middle of a dense bamboo forest. It is a little inward from the main road. However it is very cozy and worth all of it. The rooms, the bathroom, the surrounding everything is fabulous.

The surrounding area can be a little off during the night as sometimes the network can behave funnily.

Scary - we were alone in the property with no security and not even a staff member , CCTV and fencing No intercom facilities Not accessible to vehicles, ( should be parked far away and has to walk to property)no proper lighting in the property surrounding, thus high risk of snake bites , trips and falls due to uneven pavement Open shower room , but scary at night to have shower and unsafe in rooms as no security in the property surrounding. Nil wifi service There is a closed quarry surrounding with water ( no proper lighting , fence and cleaning) Unsafe parking for vehicles as far away from property . Surrounding of accommodation not well maintained Property has only one fan so was very hot Nil activities , not even a television.

Ambience was good

I booked but didnt stay there as when we reached there there were no one in the property. Later one care taker came and informed that we are the only guest there on that day.

No sign board to reach there and google map also doesnt help to reach there.

Hands down, the most incredible stay I've ever had. 🥹 This is exactly why I'll write a bit more detailed on here. It is *such* a unique place, surrounded by and set in nature, virtually everything here was handcrafted with lots of knowledge, an eye for detail and experience. And lots of bamboo, of course! There are three or four cabins spread across the areal, all close to an open dining area, where the kitchen and plenty of places to eat and rest are located as well as a little lake. There are opportunities to request the resort as an area for yoga workshops, exhibitions, cooking events or other activities. My bungalow featured an amazing outdoor bathroom (with a hot water shower), comfy living/sleeping space, a terrace with view into the mountainous forest and even a small balcony. Insects are kept outside through incense sticks, which worked great (i got no bites). authentic Keralan breakfast and affordable dinner was served with lots of love by two kind men working at the resort. The manager is very nice, available and helpful himself. Everything is kept constantly clean and hygienic, and the kitchen features an excellent water filtering system with a seperate tank. I was staying here in early October to do artistic research in a 2-day bamboo workshop over at the Uravu centre/nursery, which is connected to this place and in walkable distance (15-20min). Its a Must to at least give them a visit. It is a great season to explore the whole Wayanad area, which is set between 1000m and 2000m in the west ghats, hence it has a very enjoyable climate and air. Plenty of rice, coconuts, bananas, coffee, tea,.. are grown close by, and bird watching sites as well as a wildlife sanctuary are near. Don't forget you are in the mid of the rural tropics - be prepared, informed and talk to locals when going into the bushes! Autorikshaws are found nearby and can be ordered to pick you up.

Not worth and not clean ,night stay is very bad ,light set up and arrangement is not good

It's a beautiful stay, the rooms were well maintained. The host also helped us with arranging travel options for us to move around. The food was decent homely food.
