Pestana Palm Gardens

O Palm Gardens é uma grande vila muito bem cuidada. São cerca de 40 casas, todas de 2 andares. Cada uma delas é capaz de receber 2 famílias, uma no térreo e outra no 1º andar. Tem restaurante e uma piscina limpíssima. É um perto longe para ir a pé à praia, às falésias ou aos restaurantes no final da rua. Usamos o carro para esses descolamentos, mas é bem localizado. Fiquei com a impressão de estar em um condomínio que mistura time sharing, hotelaria e chalés privados. Cada casinha tem vida própria e orbita o núcleo principal com boa manutenção e suporte. Ficamos no andar de cima. Como tenho sono leve, ótima escolha. O apartamento tinha 1 quarto, banheiro e sala de jantar com cozinha equipada com frigobar, microondas e utensílios domésticos. O mobiliário é um pouco antigo, com algumas coisas de sisal que emanam um cheiro meio forte e pouco agradável. Em vez de cama de casal, duas camas de solteiro que não se acoplam. Isso acaba sendo um desconforto para quem quiser dormir abraçado. Banho quente, mas banheiro e quarto gelados. O vento frio entrava sei lá por onde. A região em que ficamos tem muitos hotéis. A escolha pelo Gardens foi um mix de boas avaliações e valor da hospedagem. É provável que encontremos algo um pouco melhor nesta faixa de preço.

As casas têm uma entrada comum. A porta à frente vai para o andar de cima. A lateral dá acesso ao apartamento térreo. Vc só entra com a chave de presença ou se alguém abrir a porta pra vc. Havia uma outra família no chalé térreo. Um gênio não levou a chave e tocou a campainha no meio da madrugada. Acordei com o coração na boca. Hesitei abrir a porta. Quando abri, a pessoa havia acabo de trancar a porta ao lado. O sono foi pro espaço e fiquei horas xingando o sujeito mentalmente. Mas ele só teve culpa de não levar a chave. As campainhas não têm número, ao menos as do meu chalé. Vc não sabe qual é o 13A ou o 13B. Bastaria ao Gardens criar uma identificação simples para que outros hóspedes não perdessem o sono à toa.

When we arrived in our taxi I wondered if we had made a mistake booking the hotel as some of the outside areas look a bit run down. But it was really good value so I told myself it would be ok. What a pleasant surprise we had when we got into our lovely 2 bedroom sea view apartment. We had booked a 1 bed and not sea view so this was a great surprise. Really nicely decorated and very clean. The pool area was great too. Plenty of sunloungers. Cute pool bar. We picked the hotel as its close to the Seven Hanging Valleys hike and we didnt have a car so its location was perfect for us. Lots of nice beaches nearby, and a 15 minute walk to town for restuarants and bars. Allowed us a later check out. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Definitely reccomend this lovely hotel.

The outside looks a bit tired. Check in time of 4pm is quite late (though our room was actually ready at 2.15pm).

The location is perfect for walking the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail, or a day at the beach. The onsite restaurant is delicious and the staff delightful.

Wish I could have stayed longer.

brilliant position near caves and beaches and very good clean pool. Once we had upgraded to top level it was very comfortable and well maintained and we were extremely satisfied.

The standard room from booking.com was the worst in the entire place with a tiny outside area fenced in the car park. See photos! We were offered the chance to upgrade at an extra cost of 44% per night after a small discount, as they agreed that it did not meet the level of the other standard rooms. Facilities varied enormously in quality. The kitchen was spotless and very well appointed and there was masses of space in the upgraded apartment. However our bath initially ran brown but after turning on all the taps in the apartment for several minutes it cleared. The children's play area was truly grim - a tiny fenced off area with nothing in it but astroturf within the carpark against a wall. Luckily no children seemed to require it. By contrast the view from our new apartment was superb. We did not eat the breakfast as we had our own extremely well kitted out kitchen. The reception staff were cooperative and offered free glasses of sparkling wine as welcome. The cleaning lady was brilliant. So a mixed bag but generally a very nice place to stay provided you check out exactly which room you are being offered before travel.
