Sumberkima Hill 2

Super positief verrast door deze prachtige plek! Sumberkima Hillside ligt midden in de natuur, de combinatie van al het mooie groen en de bijzondere architectuur was echt waanzinnig! In vergelijking met het zuiden lijkt alles hier zoveel schoner en lijkt iedereen hier zich echt in te zetten om geen afval in de natuur te goeien. Er zijn twee hele goede restaurants, eentje westers en eentje meer Indonesisch, dus voor ieder wat wils (ook te bezorgen in je huisje). Het team regelt alles wat je wil via whats app. Er is bovendien van alles te doen, waardoor het ook heel leuk was voor onze kinderen (8 en 6). We hebben een wandeling gemaakt met Ocho die ons alles heeft geleerd over de manier van leven, de natuur en alles wat daar groeit en je kunt eten. Maar ook hebben we met het (gratis) shuttle karretje een paar keer Mangrove Bay bezocht waar twee splinternieuwe padelbanen liggen voor een paar potjes padel. Je kunt daar ook trouwens heel lekker eten, jeu de boulen, ping pongen etc. En er wordt een giga gym gebouwd die bijna af is. Als klapper hebben we een snorkeltour gemaakt en het zicht, het koraal en de vissen en zelfs schildpad waren mooier dan we ooit ergens hebben gezien.

Die Landschaft war wunderschön. Süße kleine Holzhütte in den Hügeln, spektakuläre Ausblicke über den Ozean, bis hin nach Java und den Ijen Kratern. Wunderschöne Sonnenauf- und Sonnenuntergänge. Perfekt zum spazieren, es gibt sogar kleine Trails den Berg hinauf. Die beiden Infinity Pools hat man oft ganz für sich alleine. Outdoor Gym ist toll. Muay Thay classes sind super. Es wird regelmäßig Yoga angeboten. Wenn man nicht gut zu Fuß ist, kann man kostenlos das Shuttle anfordern. Auch Wasser bekommt man kostenlos geliefert. Die Restaurants sind auch super, gute vegane Optionen. Das Hotel bietet tolle Ausflugsziele (zb Coral Restauration bei Mangroove Bay). Es gibt ein Spa, welches ich allerdings nicht ausprobiert hatte. Ich blieb für 5 Nächte und es war perfekt!

The view and the style of the cabin

It needs a toilet built on top the cabin, nobody want to wake up at night needing to pee and then have to go for a walk, Bad Idea Bad design

EVERYTHING. Absolutely amazing, the villa, the food, the staff, the spa, the views, the pool.

There was not much we liked about the property. Ours was Anak Arun. The concrete walls that were not even polished concrete made us feel like we were sleeping in someone’s garage. Bare minimum furniture. No comforts. The resort is very spread out but the restaurants were excellent. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. They added us to a WA group where we could book things and make enquiries. The spa was fabulous and great value for money.

It was too spread out and although there was a shuttle available it took too long to get anywhere. No shade in the main pool in the afternoon when we went for a swim so we couldn’t stay to relax. Gym was a good 15 mins walk and only free weights available and one fan, no AC. Paddle courts were a 10 minute drive away. We did not think our accommodation was good value for money. I expected a lot more for what we paid and although fresh towels and cleaning was all available at no extra charge you had to ask for it. The steps down to our accommodation need maintainance and when it rained we walked through mucky puddles on the steps. The outside of the villa is not paved, just soil with no mat inside the door to wipe feet. Lots of leaves and the area not swept.

The views were beautiful and the added touch of flowers in the Villa But when we arrived the outside are was very dirty and the outdoor bathroom full of ants and flying beetles and mosquitoes. We were told to only ask if we wanted cleaning but every day the whole inside was covered in flying beetles
