Shikara Beach Resort

Deluxe room was clean and comfortable. Good bathroom with plenty of hot water. Good towels. Lovely gardens. Decent breakfast.

Whilst the room was really good, the place overall felt tired and not too clean. Dirty, torn old mattresses and rusty fire extinguishers on the walkways give a bad impression. No seats or shade around the pools. WiFi was very poor.

The positive side: the territory of Shikara Resort and Luisa by the Beach is shared — large, beautiful, very green, with lots of trees and flowers, two swimming pools, and a river on the other side. It’s very beautiful and pleasant to spend time there.

Сам готель маленький, скромний, розташований біля пляжу, номери звичайні стандартні. Але ми бронювали віллу з двома спальнями, вітальнею та кухнею. Фотографії були чудові, але нас поселили в стару віллу, в якій ремонт не робили років 20, і в ціну була включена миша, яка не давала сумувати ночами ;) Ми бронювали й платили аванс за місяць. Але коли почали обурюватися, що це не та вілла, нам сказали, що та (з фото) ще не готова і там триває ремонт. Найімовірніше, вони просто поселили туди інших людей. А оскільки ми приїхали ввечері в суботу, знайти інший варіант було неможливо — усі нормальні вілли були зайняті. У понеділок нам запропонували вже іншу віллу, вона була кращою, але все одно не такою класною, яку ми резервували. Але якщо будете резервувати віллу, шукайте прямі контакти власників, уточнюйте, у яку саме віллу вас поселять, і просіть фото. Бо вілл там багато, і всі вони в різному стані: деякі не бачили ремонту вже багато років, а деякі — з новими меблями, свіжим ремонтом і гарними садовими меблями. ⸻ 🇬🇧 English The hotel itself is small and modest, located close to the beach, with simple standard rooms. But we had booked a villa with two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. The photos looked great, but we were checked into an old villa that hadn’t been renovated for about 20 years, and the price included a rat that kept us entertained at night ;) We had booked it and paid the deposit a month in advance. But when we started complaining that this wasn’t the villa we had reserved, they told us that the one from the photos wasn’t ready yet and was still under renovation. Most likely, they simply gave it to other guests. And since we arrived on a Saturday evening, it was impossible to find another option — all the good villas were taken. On Monday they offered us another villa, which was better, but still not as nice as the one we originally booked.

Rooms weren’t clean, bathroom was a bit dirty

Breakfast very poor selection,topped by waiter trying to remove my toast before I was ready. Dirty room,ripped sheets. My "large double bed "was two singles pushed together. Dangerous electrics,filthy fridge. Beading on patio door falling away,risking glass falling out. No light on balcony. Staff sleeping behind night reception. No access to safe.fire extinguisher decayed beyond recognition.roof tiles in danger of falling.Frankly it was faulty towers.

Excellent facility. The swimming pool was great. The rooms were spacious. Calm and quiet place. Excellent landscape.

The breakfast options could be increased and the place where it is served can be better.

Staff was very helpful, breakfast was good, room cleaning was done regularly, facilities like swimming pool were good, location was better than expected as we could walk to the beach, part of the property faced the river, super market and shops were also walking distance from the resort

We booked a room rather than independent villas and while it was comfortable, it was not very well maintained. The bedside tables needed some fixing and the fridge needed to be defrosted.
