Home of the Great Wall

We chose this hotel because of the view and it was beautiful! 🥰 There was nature, silence, and from the window we could see the Great Wall of China. 🤩 The staff was helpful, the trip was unforgettable! Thank you 🙏

Only water was offered at breakfast. It's very hard to wake up without hot tea or coffee. 😪 The price list at the hotel is expensive, there are no supermarkets nearby. We had to work hard to find a pack of tea. 💪A walk from the hotel will take a lot of effort, because it is located on a mountain. ⛰️We have no complaints about this. Just a comment that might be useful to someone. 😉

We first visited Home of the Great Wall 11 years ago and had a wonderful time with family. We are so happy that we made the decision to visit it again after 11 years as it did not disappoint. Great view of Mutianyu from our balcony, efficient air-con during hot summer days, airy shower room, comfy beds and a hearty breakfast (we were served Chinese breakfast mostly but my son loved the chicken nudgets and onion rings). Oh and decent coffee which is a big bonus. The view on the Deck was spectacular at sunset. The staff were helpful and friendly at the right dose. We will stay here again.

Property sits on top of mountain with wonderful views and good restaurant. Car ride up hill is necessary due to steepness.

Lighting in the apartment could have been better. But that’s being really picky.

While the price was a little high compared to other places of this standard, you cannot beat it for its location and the serenity of the environment that it is situated within. The staff are great and do their best to make sure that you have what you need and when you need it. The views from the room, if it isn't foggy, are simply stunning and time seems to stand still when you are staying there. Stan kindly provided us with transport to and from the Great Wall and this helped to set up a wonderful day for us.

Information on transportation both to and from Beijing and to the Wall itself. We paid 500 Y for the taxi to the hotel because the Didi App couldn't locate the hotel. It only cost 125 Y coming back by Didi which worked fine when we were there. Perhaps the hotel could do something to provide cheaper transportation and particularly support drivers who don't mind tackling the formidable driveway, which is both steep and long.

Such a gorgeous view of the Great Wall, the mountains, and the foliage. Woke up to breathtaking views. Very helpful and friendly staff. Very delicious restaurant at the hotel. I ate there both nights.

Only difficult thing was there are a lot of bugs up in the mountains in October and they kept sneaking into the room when we opened the door. So, just make sure to close the doors quickly if you go in the fall.

The view from the property is really great and there are cool viewing platforms near the restaurant and coffee shop.

The drive up the steep hill is not easy and you cannot walk up and down it without great effort. Some Didi drivers refused to go up all the way. Also, know your prices because the staff tried to price gouge me and charge 100 yuan for 10 small bottles of water and 100 yuan for a 30 yuan Didi ride.
