Silver Sand Village Resort

The resort is situated quite far from the hustle and bustle of Havelock and its beaches, but for us this was a plus. It was easy to get a tuktuk to visit Elephant Beach. The pool area was nice and they played music in the evenings.

The approach road is not good and highly painful. The property should have a shuttle service for the guests till the bad patch of road

The resort is located at most inconvenient place on the island. Almost no road approach. No taxi operator is ready to go, or if so at a cost of Rs. 2000 for a single trip. You are stuck there for all your vacation, forced to have food at their restaurant, which charges 4 times if one considers the food quality it serves. No beach access is there. The staff posted there is good though. On booking.com it has posted that it is 1.3 kms from center, while the fact is that it is more than 13 kms, thus misleading.

A splendid Resort amist rural setting. The cottages are beautiful and quirky coloured. A nice pool with live music in the evening. Spacious rooms, good amenities and a very delicious restaurant. Must appreciate the manager, Mr Amit Bhowmik who help us during a medical emergency while at Havelock.

The road to the property is dilapidated and cabs haggle for additional charges.

Great staff and very nice facilities. The room was very comfortable and clean and the pool area was fantastic. Really enjoyed the music in the evenings too.

Location was a little disappointing. Despite the name, it was nowhere near sands or the beach and the access road was torturous. We had a few issues trying the pay as the internet connections were very weak and eventually had to visit the sister hotel to make our card payment. The staff were very helpful in making this happen, so it wasn’t a major issue. Needs to be sorted though.

Unpleasant was the experience upon reaching Silver Sand Village Resort. The road leading to the property is in a poor condition. The property itself is in an isolated area, and the resort unfortunately is not being maintained well. After seeing the room and the dining area, my wife and I decided not to stay. This has been rated as a four star genius property on bookings.com , however upon reaching there we discovered that there is a difference between how it looks like in photographs, and how its upkeep actually is in reality. Also some of the distances listed by them are inaccurate which mislead us at the time of booking. Take for example the distance mentioned to Radhanagar by them is 1.5 miles, however it is actually close to 11.18 miles or 18km by road (kindly verify by yourself). Based on all these insights we decided to book ourselves again for the same dates at another/different property, at added last minute cost and some inconvenience. Upon messaging and requesting Silver Sand village resort to waive off cancellation fee since we would not be staying there, they did not revert back. As a fellow Genius member/user on bookings.com this experience was a learning in itself. We did not let this dampen our Spirit of adventure though.

Good swimming pool, food was alright and the rooms were good. Room service was good too.

The resort was too far inside and the roads leading to it was very bad so auto or cabs charge too much for it. Food is a little expensive and the quantity is too less for the money.
