Ein tolles Häuschen, sehr sauber, mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht.

Die Anfahrt ist natürlich schon etwas mühsam, aber für uns hat es gut gepasst.

This was our third stay at De Hoop. We go for the wildlife which is free to roam, so you can wake up an see Zebra, Ostrich, Eland wandering past the window of your cottage. It is a lovely, remote setting, the 2 bedroom self catering cottage is small and would be a squeeze for 4 adults, but is fine for 2. On site restaurant food is very well presented, though the portion sizes may be considered small by some. They were fine for us. The cottages have no TV or Wifi so it is great to be able to get away from instant communications.

A couple of minor niggles, last time we visited we were given a free bottle of wine and a free birding trip. These are no longer on offer, even though the booklet we purchased from reception listed the free trip! The tracks have more potholes than previously. It used to be that the gravel road into the reserve was not as good as those on the reserve. We felt the situation is now reversed.

The cottages are charming with a nice vintage flair and very beautiful and unique surroundings - expect zebras and ostrich in your backyard and beautiful sunrises and sunsets! It’s perfect for guests who want to explore by foot, bike, or boat - or just want to disconnect.

The bathrooms - especially the showers- need a refresh. On our second night we waited an hour for our main, which was too long but the staff was nice and offered a drink to thank us for our patience. We also had a much warmer experience at check-out compared to check-in. Aside from these details we really had a great stay.

Der Tisch, obwohl wir ihn nicht zum Essen genutzt haben, war liebevoll und sehr dekorativ gedeckt. Die ganze Unterkunft ist sehr alt und man muss über vieles hinweg sehen.

Das Bettkissen war super fleckig. Es sah an einer Ecke blutig aus und der Rest hatte gelbe Verfärbungen. Das Bad ist ebenfalls sehr in die Jahre gekommen.

Man wohnt in kleinen Häusern, direkt im Nationalpark, richtig schön, dass man schon in der Früh auf der Terrasse die Tiere beobachten kann

Die Anfahrt zur Unterkunft gestaltet sich sehr lang durch die Schotterstraße, das Essen war hervorragend, jedoch wurden wir nicht darauf hingewiesen, dass es abends nur ein Dreigängemenü gibt
