Why do I like this place? It's like no other. The masseria is surrounded by prickly pear cactus and olive trees. Rooms are nicely decorated. The staff is really nice, and attentive to any service detail. I will conclude this review with a praise to the Manager - She is the soul of this place. Thank you again for making my stay so perfect :-)

A week at Masseria Bernardini with two children was fabulous. We came from Sweden by lunchtime - a smile from Barbara 1 and Sumim, an amazing pasta, fruits, salami, cheese and coffe were the best welcome - just the beginning of an extraordinary experience. The masseria is so beautiful and keeps a genuine atmosphere: olive trees, cactus, flowers, the old gate, the unbelievable furniture invited us to relax, to read, to slow down, to travel in time. The pool area is relaxing: quiet and with a big mattress to take a nap. Everything has its charm and sand/stone color what make you meditate listening to the birds. No words for the breakfast. Sumil brought every morning a different fresh juice, fresh cake or pastry, eggs and ham, fruits, yogurt and cereals - just outside our house Pietra Retangulare: 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, laundry machine and luxurious beddings and towels. The girls that clean the house are bright and leave the space clean everyday. Barbara 2 is also amazing: professional, helped us to book our mini trips, best lidos (beaches with services), lunch by the pool and private dinners. She cooks deliciously and offered us much more than we could expect: perfect menus and vibrant energy. Masseria Bernardini will stay in our memories as one of the best places we felt home when travelling. The olive trees, the rosmarino and erbs just outside the door, the adorable dog Fly running away discretely... its a paradise! The architecture of the Masseria is perfect in any angle and combines tradition with what is best of modern times. Congratulations for the extraordinary work. Grazie mille, Masseria Bernardini. If you want a peaceful vacation spot this is it. All about nature and all about relaxing. All my stress was gone. Plus the staff is amazing, always there to care to your needs. They provide breakfast and each day was a new meal.

i can't say enough good things about masseria bernardini, and the staff there. the buildings and grounds are beautiful and immaculate. it is a very calm, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. exactly what we wanted for a sophisticated but calm vacation. barbara and sunil are available any time you need them, and are very friendly, but otherwise, we were left alone to relax and enjoy the property. we enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners on the courtyard outside our room- they were simple, but well prepared, with fresh local ingredients. the location is perfect for exploring salento- it is an easy drive to beaches, towns, restaurants and amenities. we hope to return!

@ Masseria Bernardini I immediately felt at home. A magnificent farm revisited as the original, in the middle of the red land of Salento. Fair and full-service. Excellent selection of staff, friendly and knowledgeable ... and then she, Mena, a small kitten that I will never forget.

We choose Masseria Bernardini after being disappointed on the quality of our Lecce city accomodation: sad B&B that we had reserved for 4 days, but left after one night. I quickly googled MBernardini on the internet. It was difficult to find a tastefully done accommodation. This was perfect for my husband the archtitect and I. Easy to find just outside the smallish town of Nardo, we relaxed immediately upon arrival. We ordered an evenig meal, which in each case, is served in your room or on the table outside your room, each having it's own exterior private area. We rarely saw anyone, it was quiet and wonderful. Lovely pool I never encountered anyone in. Great spare garden design that took the old antique masseria parts and integrated them with minimal plantings of olives, simple chisel stone tubs with dianthus, and big beautiful cactus. The food we did eat here was abundant, original and excellent! we were delighted. It's prepared by 2 (?) Indian kitchen helper cooks. Our room was on the back corner and was huge. There were long shear blowy curtains hung at the 2 sets of double doors giving us 2 separate outdoor areas with designer furniture. Big very modern bathroom but minimal. Super high ceilings, vaulted and color plastered. Upbeat but soft color scheme: we had modern iron 4 poster bed hung with a curtain.The AC was not the maximum, it never really got cold, but you have to also understand in newly developing areas of Italy, there is often not enough power available to run a proper system like this: we did not suffer in any case. The lovely big courtyard had a triangle tent velo, with fun modern chairs, simple and tasteful. Management was helpful and stayed in the background. We did ask them to help us mail a book back which they did not problem. We loved Nardo and ALL the surrounding towns: you have to dive into the centro storico of each of them but treasures await! and many are not large so its easy to follow the indications. Our favorite restaurant by far (we ate there 3 times in 5 days) was MODO. Highly recommended! Modern, chic, beautifully designed and very innovative and tasty food. Kind of a Japanese and Puglia fusion! Also I highly recommend a tour with the Nardo Proloco guides of the area masserie: absolutely fascinating: it made our trip. We will be back to this area for further exploration. The only reason this does not get a 5 is the AC and that we had come from Don Ferrante in Monopoli which was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had so :) !

You immediately feel "at home" at Masseria Bernardini. Nature, hospitality and art caracterise the place. We arrived with no other expectation than making our own judgement about the place, after reading many positive comments in various newspapers...and left totally charmed by the place, the kindness and attentiveness of the Host and staff. We'll go back!
