Residence Maison Müge

We absolutely loved this wonderful and homey hotel! It was the perfect place to come to when we arrived in Mombasa and a wonderful way to break up a trip if going north to Lamu Island or Watamu. The proprietors Erica, Henry and their son Patrick made us feel so welcome and are incredibly kind and genuine without being intrusive. Henry is a master baker from Switzerland who taught the staff to make specialty breads and we were delighted to have some of the BEST croissants we have ever tasted (including the ones in Paris.) The pool is delightful and the grounds are gorgeously landscaped.

Eine Oase der Ruhe mit sehr schönem Garten und Pool. Die Zimmer (sind eigentlich Häuschen) sehr großzügig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Ebenso das Bad. Alles blitzsauber! Wir haben im „Dolphin“ gewohnt. Das Personal ist äußerst nett und aufmerksam. Umfangreiches Frühstück mit viel tropischen Früchten, Käse und je nach Wunsch Eier, Bacon oder Bratwürste. Der Fisch zum Abendessen war sensationell, festes Fleisch und kross gebratene Haut. Dazu Zitronenbutter, Kartoffelstampf und Gemüse. Auch das Rinderfilet samt Sauce ein Genuss. Zum Strand, dem Bofa-Beach sind es etwa 10 Gehminuten, da sind kaum Leute und der Strand ist kilometer lang! Wir haben die Woche hier sehr genossen und können das Maison Müge nur empfehlen!

The facility is clean, cool, serene and calming. Loved the towels and the bathrooms. Staff are polite and responsive.

The AC was a bit complicated, but the fan in the room came in handy. A wider variety of what's on offer for breakfast would also be great, though what was served was good!
