Tamarind Tree Garden Resort - Katunayake

Close to the airport. Very scenic gardens and estate. Rooms were good and spacious.

Dining staff did not take our order correctly. Food was fair but took too long to prepare. There were many mosquitoes in our room.

The showers did not have hot water in either of the rooms that we booked and there was no hairdryer in the room. The staff did drop one to the room after asking several times. We went for dinner in the evening and were offered buffet, however, what they did not share was that this was double the price of the A La Carte menu. Finally, when we were checking out we asked reception to help book us a taxi to the airport. This taxi journey is a 10 minute drive and was one of the key reasons that we booked this hotel. The staff member completely overcharged us (6000LKR) and we were squeezed into a small car that looked like a friend/family car. Later we checked the price on Uber and it said that there were options for 1500LKR. Combining all of these items, unfortunately left us with a bitter taste to our great Sri Lankan trip. We felt like they were continuously trying squeeze as much money out of tourists as possible and we were happy to be in the airport to leave.

Nice spacious hotel close to the airport (around 15 minutes by car). It has a large green territory with lots of trees and plants, so it is interesting just to walk between villas in a calm and quiet atmosphere. The villa was clean and very large with a comfortable terrace outside. On the day of arrival we could enjoy complimentary fruits. They provide all needed amenities including shower cap, toothbrush and so on. The personnel was very friendly and kind, They kept our luggage during our trip to other city and also provided a late check out without hesistation. There are two large shops nearby so it is possible to buy some food. The breakfast is a buffet type so there are different options of meat, fruits, salad and pastry.

The breakfast could be better, though it still was nice. It would be better to cover fruits with something to prevent flies reaching them. The shower door in bathroom was leaking a bit and it would be better to renovate painting in bathroom. It was a bit stuffy in the room at night though the air conditioner and ceiling fan worked.

Wir waren nur eine Nacht dort, aber alles war super! Das Personal war sehr nett und auch das Essen (Abendessen und Frühstück) war ausgezeichnet!

Decent rooms. Close to the airport, but at a ridiculous price if you book a taxi from there.

Rude, unhelpful and unprofessional staff, especially managers. Helpless concierge and taxi booking service. Rooms not equipped with towels, blankets, etc … unless you ask for it. Pool closing at 6pm. Average A La Carte dinner menu, and bad buffet. A shame for such an expensive place. Awful breakfast.

Hands down the best resort I stayed in at Sri Lanka. The staff are very friendly, the property’s design and comfort are excellent. Its location is very convenient and close to the airport which makes it an ideal location whether you are just arriving to the country or about to leave.
