Tamarind Tree Garden Resort - Katunayake

Impressive entrance to the hotel and the staff who greeted us were lovely.

Rooms have separate bedrooms a living area and bathroom but only the bedroom was air conditioned. Felt like a sauna! Felt soulless and empty and the restaurant food was poor.

Groomed lawns and pathways kept up beautifully. Lovely swimming pool and acres to wander.

Beautiful grounds, good size rooms. Great location for airport. Amazing massage. Lovely pool area.

Aircon in bedroom adequate but old. Kept bedroom door shut tv area got so hot overnight the fire alarm activated. TV would be great if it had aircon too. Rooms tired and need a revamp.

Love the location of this hotel -- on spacious, green grounds (a couple of horses sometimes are brought to feed on the grass), and coconut trees, as well as other mature trees like tamarind and jackfruit. The rooms are huge and simply furnished, all is there. Surprised that such a quiet, country-side type hotel is only 10mins. from the airport! Really special. The large swimming pool is also very enticing.

The breakfast and dinner buffet did not have many Sri Lankan offerings which we really missed. Would be lovely to have string hoppers, milk rice, curries for breakfast, and perhaps hoppers, roti, and curries as part of the buffet offerings for those of us who love SL food and spice! (There is a small offering, but I wish it could be expanded a bit.)

A very peaceful hotel surrounded by lush greenery, offering spacious rooms and exceptionally friendly staff. Perfect for an overnight stay before or after a flight.

Swimming pool.

This is such a beautiful, quiet hotel on beautiful sprawling grounds. We stay there as an airport hotel because it is only 10mins from the airport, but this is nothing like a typical airport hotel. It is much more personal, and really makes you feel like you are in Sri Lanka. The staff are delightful, warm and friendly, and so helpful!

The breakfast buffet could be bolstered with more Sri Lankan choices for example hoppers, milk rice and kolkanda.

A lovely quiet location close to the airport . With fresh air . Better than the local airport hotels and I noticed airline staff were staying there too . Staff were so lovely . Breakfast was buffet and good . Pool was huge and a lovely relief after the long flight . If you have to stay over in Colombo I’d recommend this . It’s not in centre so safe too . They have ponies eating the grass which is a lovely touch too . Well done and thank you

The coffee could be better . It’s always difficult for get good cafe latte etc in Asia ..
