The Kandy Samadhicentre

If you are a nature lover, there's no better place to be! Mystic, rustic place in the heart of the jungle - I am very happy I came across. We had the opportunity to meet the owner of this masterpiece who seems to take pride in what he does. Staff is very friendly and nice, always there to help. My massage treatment was out of this world... Lastly, the food is also very nice. We got the full board option and didn't regret it.

Although the architecture and the aesthetic concept of the place are fantastic and unique, there are parts of the property that could use a revamp. Also, you should expect many insects in the room because you are in the jungle.

Step through the ornate antique doors of Samadhi Centre and enter a peaceful jungle paradise, a place to reconnect with yourself. A pretty stream runs through the property, where rooms, dining hall and treatment centre are set on a steep hillside, Beautifully designed and furnished with antique pieces. the rooms are lovely. The food is absolutely incredible and i had the best massage of my entire life. The staff took such great care of us and it was a blissful stay. A special spot where all you need to do is be.

Beautiful location in the forest of Candy, but a long way from the city. That is I guess what you really want. Lovely 20 minute walk to idyllic, waterfalls, and very quiet.

I think it is overpriced. Because the vast majority of people won’t have transport and will be well away from any other options. They have inflated the prices. The cost of a massage is about the same price as London. The cost of food is more than almost anything else we paid. Even when trying to organise transport, it was over 2 1/2 times more expensive than the Uber/PickMe we ended up getting. The whole place is actually quite rundown as well. More rundown than the pictures suggest. They love talking about how the area was designed by a failed architect, whilst it’s nice it’s not particularly architecturally significant. Some nice older pieces and antiques are around, but nothing, particularly special. food was fine. Again, nothing like everyone else seems to think, and if this is the most amazing meal you have in Sri Lanka, then I feel disappointed for you. Not much variety either, we basically had the same thing three days in a row for lunch and dinner.

The location is stunning, a retreat hidden in the jungle!! The staff were the kindest and most accommodating, always smiling and eager to help!! Amazing people

Beautiful accommodation with incredible food and wonderful staff, I arrived very late and they made sure I had something to eat when I arrived as I had been trekking in the knuckles and was exhausted! I can highly recommend this place for anyone looking for some peace and reconnection in nature, especially after a demanding hike in the mountains. I had a great yoga session and Ayurvedic treatment, and the room was stunning - such a treat!

The Samadhicentre is so unique, unlike anywhere I’ve ever been, it was quite an experience. I loved the location, nestled in the mountain jungle the centre has a very peaceful and tranquil feel. Wandering around is a delight, the decor is so unusual and cool, the yoga shala and meditation area is particularly special, very powerful. The staff were amazing so friendly, kind and attentive. The food was delicious! The aryuvedic treatment was incredible. Just outside of the centre there is a glorious waterfall, the hotel dogs walked me there and kept guard for me as I swam lol it was so special. I highly recommend this place! It’s a little bit of out of Kandy and when you first arrive you may be unsure, but after settling in you won’t want to leave.
