"Exorbitant costs At the resort."

6.0

Very picturesque resort. The swimming pool is nice to use if itnot raining.

The price you pay for diving there is exorbitant. Its double what you pay in Malapascua. You have to kit up everything yourself and wash everything yourself It seems quite regimented in the resort..You are charged PhP1300 per person for dinner and have a very limited selection of food.If you venture out you can support the locals at a fraction of the cost. The curio shop is also extremely expensive.Their transfers to the airport are way overpriced. Php6600 quoted but paid far less when we called the supplier direct...be very careful of this !Even their drinks are way over priced. If it's raining there is nothing to do close by.

"Lovely pool and gardens, poor wifi, reception closes too early, food too expensive"

7.0

Great pool and beautiful gardens. The snorkelling was good, you have to swim out quite far to get to the coral but this is not a problem as it is very shallow. The best snorkelling is from the headland of the next beach along. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was a large shop which would benefit from selling local crafts and souvenirs - there was nothing much of interest on sale. This could be a fabulous place to stay - on arrival it feels like a 5 star hotel, but they really need to address the WiFi issues, reception opening hours and the cost/variety of food options - these all let it down.

Lack of WiFi in some areas and having to enter different passwords when moving around the resort. The reception closes at 6pm! Why?I What if we had arrived at the resort later than planned? There were times we needed to speak to reception but couldn't as it closed so early - we found this very odd and inconvenient. The food was good but it is a limited menu each day with only 1 or 2 options for vegetarians, which was disappointing. It was also extremely expensive - over double what we paid at every other resort we stayed at (8 in total during this trip). Smoking should be restricted to smoking areas only, not near the pool or the restaurant and certainly not on balconies/terraces, we couldn't use our terrace as someone was always smoking right next to us. The pillows were too large, lumpy and uncomfortable, I requested replacements but they were not much better.

"Ingen valuta för pengarna"

3.0

"The most luxurious resort of Cebu with thoughtful staff and good food."

7.0

It was most likely the best resort you could get on the island or in that area. The coffee and tea in your room were pleasant, and the free breakfast was great. There was a worldwide selection, but the fresh omelets and bacon were always my go-to. They provided complimentary breakfast sandwiches for the day we left because we would not be there long enough for the buffet. The pizza was better than what we got in Japan, satisfying our craving. The ostrich steak dinner was fabulous! It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. This was the only dinner option we would pay for again. Lotlot, the dive instructor, was very kind and knowledgeable. I appreciated the AC, although finding out how to make it work as intended was hard. I was also happy to have a closed room that did not require a mosquito net, although ants did invade a corner of the room where a bug had laid eggs, and a tarantula visited us one night and later claimed ownership of my water shoes. All of which would have been much worse in cheaper places. The massages were reasonably priced and felt great; my husband got the Swedish, and I had the Filipino massage. Would 100% recommend. They were also so kind to grab us umbrellas after the fact because it was pouring rain. The tricycle drivers were reliable, and we never had a long wait although some charge a little more than others. We were worried that we wouldn't be able to go far enough to enjoy anything, but they recommended Panagsama right away and that was helpful. We celebrated my husband's birthday with a bottle of champagne, which was provided in an ice bucket beside our table. The staff was so sweet to bring him a piece of chocolate cake with his name written in chocolate syrup. That was delightful. There happened to be a small clear spider in my glass who had woven a web at the bottom.

The price for lunch and especially dinner were too much. This made us go visit the town more often. When a private beach was advertised, I expected more soft sand to lay out on rather than a rock cliff, although there were benches in patches of course sand. The benches were locked in one position so that I could not sit up to read my book or drink my beer. I also wish that the shower head was not locked in that one position, as I felt that I had to huddle in the corner to be under the water. The pool is probably nice to have if you have kids, but it did not feel luxury for a couple. I can't quite put my finger on the reason, but maybe it is too small. Strangley enough, we wished the center pool was a hot tub, but we attended in a cooler part of the year, so that might not be true for the rest of the time.
