Breakfast was good only, the atmosphere and the room and surroundings were magic.

The food is so stuck to the usual buffet and anything else takes a whole lot of time and delay.

The place is extremely well maintained , with a lovely staff to help whenever asked.

We stayed at Aalterra during our trip to Wayanad in early June 2026. Our cottage featured four double rooms—two on the ground floor and two on the first floor—and we occupied one of the upper-level rooms. The room itself was incredibly spacious, featuring a comfortably firm mattress and plenty of pillows. The bathroom was equally large and fully stocked with all the requisite toiletries. Perched on a hilltop, the property is stunningly lush and dotted with mango, jackfruit, fig, mangosteen, avocado, guava, and rubber trees. It rained throughout our three-day stay, and the daytime calls of the peacocks paired with the nighttime chirping of the crickets beautifully reminded us of our hometown. We opted for the breakfast and dinner package, which proved to be a very wise decision since the property is about 10 km away from Kalpetta. The food spreads were diverse enough that we never got bored, and every single dish we tried was absolutely delicious. To top it off, the staff was remarkably hospitable—they even gifted us a ripe jackfruit upon our departure, and we bought a few plant saplings to take home. Overall, it was a lovely, deeply relaxing stay. I highly recommend Aalterra to anyone looking for a completely stress-free holiday!
