Rekawa Turtle Gate Hotel

This hotel was perfect for us really. The room was very good, very clean, with beautiful terrace, view to the garden. We saw lots of peacocks here in the garden. The food was amazing. The breakfast was very delicious, and the dinner was freshly cooked and amazing. Very peaceful, relaxing place. The family is very helpful, nice, friendly. Thank you ❤️

The owner and his son Setie and nephew Hiro who run Turtle Gate were so lovely, friendly and very helpful. The accommodation is a home stay with only a few rooms so very personal. It is one of the cheapest places we stayed, so not huge rooms but everything you need with a sweet terrace outside the rooms looking onto a well kept garden. It is 3 minutes from Rekawa beach an amazing beautiful empty beach where we watched turtles lay eggs under the watchful eye of a Ranger so it's very well managed. The ranger doesn't let you close until the turtle has finished digging chambers for the eggs and only when she is laying does he shine the red light for us to see. It was amazing as we saw 2 different turtles ( 8 pm). The hotel had amazing food , a seafood restaurant,one of the best rice and curry and sea food we had in Sri Lanka , all home cooked and different dishes each night. The situation of the hotel, homestay was so idyllic and quiet, real solitude. The owner was so helpful and knowledgeable and took us to the beach to meet up with ranger. We loved this place and would recommend it if you want a lovely family experience with everything you need. Thank you Turtle Gate hotel. X

Loved everything , but as budget no tea/ coffee in room , or hair dryer but can always ask for it on own terrace. !

If you love yummy food, good people and a beautiful location, this is the place :) the staff is beyond attentive and make you feel like home. 10/10 highly recommended Can’t wait to come back 🤍

Lovely stay at rekawa turtle gate. The host was very friendly, the rooms were clean with air con. Amazing breakfast and very close to the turtle beach

Very nice place on a good location near the turtle watch. We were off season so the entire surrounding was very quiet and the sea too rough to swim. Nonetheless a very nice accommodation with good food and super friendly staff!! And important: it was clean plus super comfortable beds and pillows!

Owner’s place was so kind and polite, he was always there to give us a hand. Places is so near of the beach and you can get to experience nesting turtles. Places is confy and clean, and breakfast is amazing. Best wishes for the owner and his family, we had a great time there.
