Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds

I can't say enough good things about the Willow Winds staff. We were scheduled to stay with them during what became tropical storm Helene. They let us check in a day early when our previous hotel made us evacuate and they did everything they possibly could to make sure we were safe, comfortable, and had what we needed during the natural disaster. John Michael did an excellent job cleaning up the grounds as quickly as possible.

The grounds of the property are gorgeous and well kept. The cabin was perfect and we enjoyed our stay at Willow Winds!

Hot tub & king bed

So many millipedes! We had to sweep a path to the hot tub, particularly the first day when there were hundreds dead on the ground. There were some inside too that we found both dead & alive. The stairs were also difficult for my husband.

The wooded setting made us feel we were far from the city. Very quiet and cozy.

I know with all the health concerns, but it would have been nice to have a few spices. We learned to pack this item for the future. We love cooking for ourselves.

It was a good location for seeing things in Asheville and around the area. staff was very friendly and had good communication with us for how to check in and how to get around the property.

I expected more for what I had paid. Kevin was very rundown. Lots of dead bugs inside you could see holes through the chinking in the cabin walls. Met basic needs, but not anything extraordinary. I cannot vouch for the other cabins. I think maybe we just got the worst of litter. Do not choose Chris’s cabin. It is being propped up to keep it from sliding down the hill. Hot tub was clean, but one whole set of jets was completely missing. There were just holes. The top was really outdated and needed to be replaced. Deck needs a good paint job. Again it was very lacking in maintenance. I would’ve felt bad if I had paid $150 a night. We had other options for less money, but it presented itself very well online as and the ratings weren’t that bad. Our air conditioner was in the kitchen dining area and did not sufficiently cool the bedroom. There was no fan available. The coffee pot still had the grounds in it from the last people that stayed there. They charge $115 cleaning fee. It really miffed me that they also left an envelope for a tip for the cleaning crew. I never leave that envelope empty but this time I did.

Everything was as advertised. Very nice retreat
