The Lake Ambience Resort

Great place to hang out

The Resort is located above the village and you have to take the serpentines to arrive there. Note, the road to get up is in a poor condition at the moment. Location and Facility: Located in Naukuchiatal, Lake Ambience Resort offers a magnificent view over the lake and the surrounding hills. They offer options to enjoy the atmosphere outside on the rooftop as well as to light a bonfire. The rooms have a sleeping room, private bathroom and a balcony with view over the lake and hills. They are basically equipped but fine. Since the Resort opened recently, the network to local guides, drivers or activities is not established, yet. But the staff was very endeavoured to make us feel comfortable, provided tea and water. Early breakfast at 5:30 wasn’t an issue at all. Food: Breakfast is nice with choice between Indian-Style or continental. You can also have dinner for a fair price. Food quality and amount was good.

The Resort is still under construction; you will notice that all around. There is no direct way down to the village, for example by stairs, so if you don’t have your own vehicle you have to walk the whole way down (about 20 minutes). The last is not very recommendable at night due to wildlife. Cleanliness in the rooms is an issue that definitely needs to improve! Rooms are badly soundproofed so it can get very noisy, especially in the evening, since there are plenty of hotels around the lake playing a ton of music. The echo is hearable all across the lake. Activities: If you like trekking or hiking the options are very limited, although travel guides might advise differently. Instead there are plenty of options for paragliding, Zip-Lining, or Kayaking. The village itself doesn’t offer a whole lot apart from 2 cafes and a bunch of restaurants.
