Mountain Resort Patzenfeld

The spa was very good even though it wasn't all open (seasonal and work ongoing). The restaurants were nice and reasonable in price. Pinsa's very good! Beef cheek outstanding. The Helles beer is decent in the bar - try it :) We did the 6 course tasting meal with wine pairing and it was a great experience. Staff were very good (shout out to Dmitri who served us 70% of the time and was always brilliant). Location is outstanding, 40 minute drive to Casini di Misurina, Lago Di Briaes etc... The view from the apartments is outrageously good. Bed was comfortable

Small things and didn't ruin the trip but more for guests who stay in the future. Pillows were too soft for our liking. Could have requested more I reckon, so on us, but an FYI No ability to iron clothes on site, didn't bring a travel iron so had to go to dinner creased. The living room of the apartment was a little uncomfortable in that there were only wooden seats and benches (nice and rustic) to sit on with cushions. A sofa/comfy chair would be brilliant (especially after a long hike!). We arrived late at night and whilst we had a map to the apartment, no signage outside meant we found ourselves walking around for a while trying different doors, entrances. A sign outside of the main door with 20/21 would have helped (we were tired after a long day).

Interesting SPA concept. Our child really enjoyed the sand area in the indoor pool. Breakfast was nice and offered a good variety.

1. When I read the reviews about the hotel staff, I thought people were exaggerating or simply being too demanding, expecting everyone to bend over backwards for them. However, we also had some rather strange experiences - starting from the reception and ending with the pool attendant. They are not rude, but they are (not all of them) definitely not understanding. 2. We received a different room than the one we had booked - the room in the photos looked noticeably different. 3. The SPA is located in a separate building, which means you have to walk outside to reach it.

Very unique place. Spa is fabulous. Looking forward to get back.
