Ima Villa Sigiriya

Peaceful location a short distance from the main sights with great pool and restaurant area. All staff were amazing and went out of their way to look after us! Bikes available to help explore the local area. Food was great and very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again!

Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommendes Personal. Spontan wurde uns der Flughafen Transfer organisiert war sehr gut funktioniert. Auf Nachfrage nach einem Taxi, fuhr uns der Chef selbst. Pool sehr gepflegt und Sauber. Zimmer ebenfalls alles super.

the staff was the best

We really enjoyed the place, the rooms feel spacious and luxurious, the garden, clean and spacious pool and surrounding areas like the restaurant are all very nice. There are two dogs and a cat that are all very friendly and well behaved. There are only 4 chalets which makes the place feel very calm and relaxing. They also have a room for drivers which is a nice service. The staff is generally friendly and most speak English quite well. The wifi and cell service didn't work initially because of the thick walls, they managed to fix the wifi by moving the router.

There are a lot of small details that made the place feel less hospitable than others: No welcome message after booking, the communication in general could be more proactive. The blanket for the bed is too small for two people (very long, not wide enough for two). The large uncovered window makes showering at night uncomfortable and there is no sign which is soap and which is shampoo. Not every house has a table out front. The breakfast is strangely organized: continental breakfast is valued at 1490, Sri Lankan at 990, we had breakfast included yet for Sri Lankan breakfast you have to pay an additional fee for a juice. We got more food at other places for breakfast in Sri Lanka. Also the Sri Lankan food needs to be pre-ordered but we only got it half an hour after the agreed time, and cold, the other times we didn't pre order and had to wait a similar amount of time, sometimes longer. We borrowed bikes, didn't get informed about the fee until checkout. We got stuck because the bike had a flat tire (one of the bikes had very old tires so it was bound to happen). We called for help but the resort only had a tuktuk so we asked another hotel with jeeps for help, they to help us without hesitation, donation-based. Ima villa tried to charge us for getting the tuktuk to come help us (we called and messaged immediately when we found help and they didn't tell us they were still coming). Also they charged us for a ride we never took. All this made us leave with a frustrated and disappointed feeling.
