Driftaway Queenstown

Exactly as the photos! Beautiful location by the lake. Views of The Remarkables from the property. Safe and secure parking. Stayed in Cabin 1 and it was perfect for two. Super clean, spacious and comfortable, absolutely luxurious for a caravan park cabin (better than many hotels I’ve stayed in!). All the perks of a hotel room (comfy queen bed, large flatscreen tv, free wifi, private ensuite w heated towel rail, lovely toiletries, all linen provided) with the bonus of caravan park facilities (laundry, playground, bbq, free parking, relaxed family-friendly atmosphere, super-friendly pet cat). And there is direct access to Frankton Beach.

Some may not appreciate the noise from passing planes (it’s under the flight path). But for plane watchers like me, it was a treat to see the planes flying overhead and gaining altitude.

Lovely staff - very helpful and accomodating. The location is wonderful. Easy walk to the marina where I caught the water taxi into town. The public transport in Queenstown is fairly simple to navigate; including the water taxis. Nearby the airport which was very convenient but also the air traffic didn't bother me at all. The room was simple, clean, spacious and comfortable.

Queenstown in general can be a little expensive. I found Driftaway to be a little costly compared to what I am used to, but when compared with other places locally it is great value.
