Starlight Resort Koh Phangan

Super location for beach & fabulous pool. It is very quiet so not for partygoers, but we loved it. Hotel doesn't have a bar or restaurant, but that really doesn't matter as there are plenty of places to eat & drink close by. Would recommend Ram & Phas and Pat & Das on the main street (less than ten mins walk away), both very cheap with great food. Easy to get taxis & you can get longtail boats to Bottle Beach (we walked there - long & hot & hilly!) and got a boat back.

Not so keen on the balcony which wasn't very private & a bit odd having the loo roll outside the loo, but they are quibbles.

I think 4000 Baht for this hotel is way too much, I paid 15 stars in Bangkok for 4400 Baht I think this hotel is not worth more than 1400 baht

Great location

No privacy on balcony. Every room surrounding us was smoking weed. Not the accommodation fault but something to be aware of, unable to sit out or keep doors open. Drilling and work being carried out by the pool for the duration of our stay so unable to sit out an relax. If there were lounger put on the beach that may have made for a more pleasant stay. Room was tidied & fresh towels give by bedding wasn’t changed for a 4 night stay. Spent most of our time at the restaurant/bar Nextdoor. Also good having a small shop onsite.

The bed was pretty comfortable. The property is right on the beach and that was nice. The shower doesn't have glass or anything so the bathroom gets really wet. Beware that the location is pretty remote and to go to the parties or full moon party etc you need to ride the scooter for like 45 minutes

The receptionist is not super friendly, but ok overall. The room says sea view, but it's not really like that. You can nearly spot it. I believe there is only one room that truly has sea view

Horrible, rude staff.

If it was clear skies, it would be a beautiful place to stay. Receptionist was very lovely and she helped us greatly with our stay. Bed was very comfortable to sleep in. Housekeeping very diligent and cleaned very well.

Listen, the problem with the hotel was the lack of backup generator and also the lack of information when it came time for the blackout. We experienced about a 12-15 hour blackout because of the storm, no information was given or any help was given either, we kind of had to fend for ourselves, which wasn’t great. Would have appreciated some sort of notice or information, but I guess our whole side of the island was pretty much experiencing the same crap. ATM wasn’t working, minimart was great but 2x everything compared to the 7/11 down the road.
