Patnem Beach Cottages

I had a very bad experience at this hostel. We arrived exhausted and without any local currency. The owner informed us that there was no exchange nearby and offered to help us with a distant exchange. We agreed, but when he returned, he provided a very poor rate of 8000 rupees for 100 dollars. Shortly after, we found a reliable exchange just a couple of minutes away that offered a much better rate of 8400 rupees. It became clear that the owner misled us about the availability of exchanges nearby, and we suspect he profited from the poor exchange rate he provided. I do not recommend this hostel due to their lack of honesty and transparency.

The room was big and specially the bathroom the biggest we had in India. We loved Patnem and definitely will come back.

There is not much to say but just little things to keep in mind: we stayed 5 days maybe having the room cleaned up for once could be appreciate with bed shit and towel changed. Maybe having a mosquito net even with the AC because there is gap between the door we chased some mosquitos. And the road to join the beach is very durty. I know this is not about the place but could maybe do something with the neighbours to have a clean path. As I said little adjustment ideas.

Spacious room,clean a few minutes walk to the beach . Helpful staff. Palm tree in the bathroom.

Should not be advertised as on’ the beach’ because it is not-it is actually by the road that connects to the main road . There are many mopeds parked outside so it might get noisy sometimes. Airconditioning didn’t work in the first cottage so luckily they had another cottage (there are only four cottages) had it been full I would have been without airconditioning.
