The Hidden Village, Khao Yai

The room was very nice

Given that we paid quite a lot and the resort positions itself as „luxury“ resort we also expected such treatment. Which was not the case. They charged us 150 Baht for a face towel we apparently soiled so much (we simply wiped of some dirt from out daughters hands)- but they just can‘t wash things properly. Also we gave some things into laundry, they came back just with the same level of dirt. No improvement. If you‘re a lucury resort and charge the guests the respective money you should be able to do guests and your own laundry accordingly!!!

The stuff

Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Reception staff spoke English well. Great location for getting to Khao Yai and for accessing restaurants and cafes. Breakfast was exceptionally generous. Gardens at the hotel were lovely and lush.

Very nice bungalow and the pool area and garden were really pleasant. Wonderfully friendly and attentive staff. The location was also excellent - very close to the entrance gate of the National Park. A number of restaurants, cafes and services (ATM, Convenience Store, Pharmacy) in walking distance.

While the breakfast was generous, some items had been prepared the previous day and no longer tasted fresh. The hotel should also ensure the flood lights in the pool area get switched off by 10PM or 11PM and they should remind guests to be considerate and keep noise levels down after that time.

A gorgeous resort with beautiful grounds full of lush plant life and flowers, and a fantastic pool. Each villa has been cleverly landscaped to give privacy and tranquility to the guests. The staff were all absolutely wonderful, and the restaurant that's partnered with the hotel does delicious Thai food. The included breakfast was excellent and I always took my breakfast to the back of the grounds to eat in one of the pretty tiled tables with a lovely view. Nice and close the the park entrance as well. Both my accommodation and my experience in the park itself was flawless. The photos I have of the inside of my villa don't do it justice. It was huge and very nicely appointed. **For both the accommodation and the national park, I strongly recommend planning your trip on weekdays to avoid more crowds. **If you're looking for great tours for the national park, check out Khao Yai and Beyond, I did their 3 day wildlife spotting tour (I requested a focus on hiking) and it was absolutely stunning. **I did not drive, and the trickiest part of my trip planning was finding a driver to get me to and from Bangkok to Khao Yai. I used Thai Happy Taxi in the end and they were very reliable, you just need to ensure you have cash to pay your driver.
