Sanctuary Chitwan National Park

The resort is beautiful, the gardens are well-maintained, the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, and all the staff members are lovely, from the first to the last. Except for the manager, Ajid. It's a shame that, being such a high-quality hotel, we had such an unpleasant experience that left a bad taste in our mouths.

We stayed three nights, two full days, as a group of two. The resort organizes excursions to Chitwan National Park. There are two price options: shared excursions with other hotel guests (minimum five people) and private excursions. On the first day, we booked a shared jeep safari with three other guests arriving at the resort that same day. The price was $60. The other guests were expected to arrive at 12:00 pm. We waited in the reception area for two hours without the manager informing us of anything. Finally, at 2:00 pm, he informed us that the other guests had arrived but had canceled their safari. We discussed our two-day activities with him. The cancellation of our other guests meant we had to book two private tours for a total of $530, which we did. The manager, taking into account the two-hour wait and the change from shared to private safaris, told us he would give us a free one-hour boat trip on the Narayani River. We happily accepted, as our expenses had increased considerably. However, imagine my surprise when, upon paying the bill for the two safaris, the three nights at the hotel, and meals, which came to $1,143, it included $60 for the boat trip the manager had given us. I was even more shocked when, upon inquiring about the charge, he replied that he had to charge me because the day we were waiting for the other group, who ultimately decided not to come on safari, the resort had had to rent a jeep for us. Listen, I was already paying for the private safari; if they had to rent the jeep, that's their problem, not mine! And in no way does that expense justify them then charging me for the boat trip they had given me as a gift. I probably wouldn't have gone for it if I had known I would have to pay for it. I paid de full bill. That's not the attitude of a hotel that calls itself luxury, and the manager's behavior doesn't reflect the quality of the establishment.

Accoglienza, disponibilita' e struttira immersa nella natura

A truly peaceful stay right on the edge of the jungle, with exceptionally stylish and beautifully designed rooms. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a stunning suite overlooking the forest — waking up to that view from my bed felt surreal. The staff were nothing short of exceptional. Ajit the manager, safari guides Tulsi and Ashok, and the restaurant team all went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and memorable. The safari experience was magical. I saw 15 rhinos, including three mothers with calves. I followed Tulsi’s recommendation to visit the community forest instead of the main park and I’m so glad I did, as other groups returned disappointed. Tulsi, Ashok, and our driver John were determined to help me spot a tiger, visiting multiple locations and waiting patiently. While we didn’t get lucky this time, seeing so many rhinos more than made up for it. Thank you for a wonderful stay at Sanctuary Chitwan.

My only small issue was that the location was very far out of the way. The transfer fee offered by the lodge was ridiculous at $70, when I found a taxi in the end for around $25. Please note, that the remote location iis what makes the place so special! Even on the safari, I saw very few other jeeps.

Le strutture sono nuovissime e perfettamente integrate nell’ambiente naturale, il personale è accogliente e attento, e la pulizia è impeccabile. Il cibo è buonissimo. Il safari è stata un’esperienza stupenda: grazie alla nostra guida Roshan per le emozioni indimenticabili! Perfetto per coppie, avventurieri o chiunque cerchi una pausa dal caos quotidiano. Per noi, il Sanctuary non è stato solo un soggiorno, ma un’esperienza spirituale che resta nel cuore.

Le style architectural de l’établissement, aéré, moderne avec des matériaux de qualité. Chambres très spacieuses pour les chambres villas. Salle de bain très vaste… Bonne Cuisine et petits déjeuners agréables dans une belle salle dominant la pelouse et la piscine Le Personnel est aux petits soins

Les safaris proposés sont un peu chers mais les rhinocéros se montreront sans conteste.

Dover venir via da questo piccolo paradiso

Everything here is out of our expectation good. It was a shock that our flight been canceled when we had already been in the airport waiting for two hours. We managed to arrive at the hotel at late night but the hotel staff was still waiting for us and prepared dinner for us. Then the next day safay was excellent and a precious experience for my daughter since it was her 11 years old birthday. We had a half day jeep safari and a boat trip and a sundowner plus my daughter’s birthday celebration. Special thanks to our best guide Roshan who was indeed professional and passionate. We saw many species even in winter time low season. Also a big thank to the hotel manager Tulsi and dear Sabita who continuously kept contacting with us and helping us.
